Simply beaten by a far superior team, easily the best iv’e seen this season.Every player looked comfortable on the ball and the finishing was clinical. We were poor 1st half and only improved 2nd half when they allowed us more possession after the 3rd goal. The decision to start without McKay was disappointing as I think he looked busy when he came on albeit no service. As usual McClean seems to single-handedly take the fight to the opposition and Ojo looked good too.Overall the results above us were kind so we still have time to climb the table but we need to improve quickly and find some wins.

      “Poor first half”? Really?

        Yes quality, or lack of.

If I was Pearce I’d be a mightily disappointed not to be starting in front of Barnett.

You were at the right game ? It was men against boys .Sometimes you just have to admit when we have been completely out played.

To be honest, bar some decent movement off the ball I wasn’t impressed by Bournemouth at all.
At the end of the day, without 3 absolute clangers gifting them goals they didn’t threaten Latics much and in the couple of brief periods where Latics midfield got stuck in & closed them down instead of standing off & gifting them possession Bournemouth looked very shaky.
What they did have was a centre forward who only needed 3 chances to score 2 goals – unfortunately he was gifted al 3 opportunities

Usual first ten minutes of effort and goal attempts to lull us into a false sense of security, followed by the usual allowing the opposition to get a foot hold on the game and then finally the usual up tempo effort to get back into the game when it is beyond us!

Thought they were ok.We gave them so much room that anyone would have looked good with the amount of space they had.We were 10-15 yards too deep.Heard was so much off the pace with his positional sense. He stood 10 yards off their winger and just backed off and let him cross the ball.Barnett gets pushed off the ball so easily it’s unreal.Absolute poor performance all round. The best form of defence is to attack. We Only tried to attack when we were 3 goals down and then it should have been 4 down after they missed a sitter. We are doomed.

That was the very phrase that I used today at half time. They looked two leagues above us, men always in space, passing firm and accurate, all knowing what they had to do, an unbelievable workman like, never giving an inch centre forward and every battle was won by a Cherrie.

The positives for me were Herd, Clarke, Ojoe and the never say die attitude, especially when we went 3-0 down.

If we had played a Rotherham or a Huddersfield today, I’m sure we’d have won by 2 or 3.

I doff my kep to you Mr Howe, you have a fantastic team and work ethic, I hope you storm this league and give your current team a chance to play in it, rather than import a set of prima donas.

Yes I was at the game and yes we did okay apart from the two stupid goals we/ref gave away any other team today we would of won confidence and luck play a big part in football and we have and ain’t got either

Yes it was men against boys but what really else could we have expected. The thing is Bournemouth didn’t get out of 2nd gear.
At 3-0 down they gave us a chance or we had a go, doesn’t really matter which at 3-0

I thought Herd was up and down and when I saw the gloves I feared the worst. At best he got stuck in.
Kim Bo Selecta looked like the average Asian footballer if I’m allowed to say that. Steady at best but will lose a lot of ball.
Clarke tried and did what Fortune does
McKay looks deceptively slow. At one point McLean broke away down the wing, Clarke got going at the same pace an McKay was 10 yards of it looking like he was running in treacle.
Ojo came on and looked skilful without having blistering pace.
Pearce, how bad is he if he can’t getin that defence
Bongo, not sure if he’s up to playing a game yet?

Crowd was bad but those there tried there best to get the team going. The only real quality on show today imo.

Very very disappointed Waghorn did not play in front of some of the above.

                    And so it continues…………..

Yes Bournemouth were better than us but we were in the game until that incompetent twonk couldn’t spot a fella 5 yds offside for Christ’s sake. May have still lost but you need the breaks and we ain’t getting thwm

We still had a very long time to get back into the game

Anyway what you talking about? We got a break when Clarkes header from 3 yards was going wide but hit the defender and went in :-)

Bournemouth are a very decent side and were slick in their passing and had a great deal of zip about them and played that way on a poor pitch to boot. It was a poor refereeing decision for the first goal but there wasn’t much of an appeal from our players and that’s maybe a sign of lack of cohesion and confidence. Had we gone in at half time one down (or level even), who knows what might have happened.

No great quality on show for us but there was certainly more heart than we’ve seen recently. Kvist, in particular, bust a gut today and played with bags of enthusiasm. The crowd did too especially for the ten minutes after our goal where we thought something might happen until they slowed the game enough to pour cold water on a revival.

Hard to see us turning any sharp corners in the very near future but today was a small step forward rather than backward imo.

Beaten by such a superior side today & i for one wish them the best for the rest of the season. As for ourselves we have 17 games to.save our season, which TBH i just cant see us doing :-(
