Espinoza starts. We win. Sound familiar? Hardly a coincidence the energy that man brings.
Make the most of it.
Game plan was to press them all over the pitch – it seems to have worked. Roger with his energy would be perfect for those tactics.
It’ll be all change on Saturday – unless the tactics remain the same of course. B)
Not being funny but if we were pressing them all over the pitch then we can’t give Roger sole credit for doing ALL of that. Didn’t see the game so it’s hard to comment but, I’m simply not having that that headless chicken was the reason we won yesterday.

I wasn’t giving him sole credit but that’s why he was in the team yesterday. He probably did run around like a H C but that’s what the tactics would have dictated he do.Press them high up the pitch. His boundless energy would have been just what the manager required. He’ll probably be lucky to be on the bench on Saturday.
26 October 2014 at 2:20 pm #134486The pleasing thing for me from yesterday was the fact we miss a penalty then immediately fall behind, now with our recent lack of goals it would have been understandable if the lads let their heads drop and feel sorry for themselves. They didn’t and went on to win the game and they deserve massive praise. We have played Wolves,Forest and Derby recently and are unbeaten against the teams up at the top. There is not a lot wrong with this squad and once we find the right formula watch us go.

Fair point. He’ll probably be tired anyway, from all that running about yesterday ;)

26 October 2014 at 4:18 pm #134489I am just back from a major bender in Manchester ( No Canal Street jokes please! ) Good win yesterday, I thought we were doomed when they went 1-0 up but good team effort ( No individual kudos please! )Let’s just hope that we can get at least 7 points from the next 3 games!
26 October 2014 at 4:30 pm #134493Jimmy Bullard was exactly the same, He wasn’t a very good footballer but he ran around like a headless chicken for 90 mins every game and never gave up and it seemed to inspire the rest of the team to work harder. That’s where Espinoza has an influence.

Ignoring the fact that that must be a wind-up, I was only thinking last night (having not seen the game) that it was hardly a coincidence that Huys started yesterday and we win. I think that was probably more of a factor than Roger’s headless chicken nonsense.
Oh, and we went back to 1 up front, too.
And you didn’t see the game? I did and we didn’t.

What is all this shit? Who put the cross in for McLean to score the first goal eh?
Get a grip man and watch the damn thing before spouting shit about a player who put a very decent shift in yesterday.
26 October 2014 at 5:29 pm #134498Super result yesterday. ..need to show some consistency now. A lot of folk got carried away after the Birmingham win who I stated after that we wouldn’t meet a worse team this season.Derby a different animal altogether so credit where it’s due.The most pleasing aspect was the grit shown particularly being a goal down. A mention for McLean cos he always plays like he gives a shit! !!
26 October 2014 at 8:29 pm #134504Your not a fan of old Roger are you griff? :lol:I think he’s OK, but nothing more, nothing less. I just can’t understand why everybody seems to think he’s an absolute world beater and the answer to all our problems, because he clearly isn’t.

Possibly because of his first half display in the cup final when he and Macca were unplayable. City could not get near the pair of them but I know what you mean.If he could play like that every game then who knows.

Well, yeah. But he doesn’t though, does he?
27 October 2014 at 12:41 am #134516His energy and drive provides a tempo that can bring a team to life. Won a penalty, set up equaliser, played some great through balls but the armchair guru’s still cant admit he’s a decent player. Must just be a coincidence then that he played in cup final and in games like yesterday. Get him back in the stand!
27 October 2014 at 1:04 am #134517very true he is not the best, but his energy and effort rub off on the rest.
