So why have THREE managers sidelined him?
27 October 2014 at 1:28 am #134520George bangs in a swerve ball!
27 October 2014 at 12:42 pm #134527His energy and drive provides a tempo that can bring a team to life. Won a penalty, set up equaliser, played some great through balls but the armchair guru’s still cant admit he’s a decent player. Must just be a coincidence then that he played in cup final and in games like yesterday. Get him back in the stand! And his regular giving away of the ball can have exactly the same effect of the opposition. I bet there are more games where he has had no effect than games where he has. Still, you’re entitled to your opinion.
I’ve said a few times he’s OK. No better, now worse than that. And as George says, out of four Wigan Athletic managers, only Horc sees enough in him to pick him regularly. ;)

As Garswood said Griff, only three managers have so far overlooked him. If I was ever to become manager, which is doubtful now after that great win on Saturday I probably wouldn’t over look him quite so easily has my predecessors have. Whether he would be a regular, I really don’t know as we have better midfielders due back from injury soon.
That said, if a player came to me on more than one occasion and said his heart wasn’t in it, and wanted to leave, I would question his dedication to the cause, and whether he was a main player or not I would think hard about giving the shirt to a more dedicated player instead.
I just hope that Roger said these things a while back and it has only just come to press, and he has since knuckled down and shown his worth in training to earn his recall to the squad and not been given it just to appease him.
For the record, I can’t remember saying he should be a regular, but as you know when you do get to our time in life it is easy to forget things or even mistake people for others, but it doesn’t half make stories sound better and adds longevity to the tale as well.
You of all people will know that more than most being an author of many a long tale over the years.28 October 2014 at 12:13 pm #134585His energy and drive provides a tempo that can bring a team to life. All things being equal.
