In goal= Vladimir Stojkovic = Great at shot stops/shouting/diving/kicking
Left back= Maynor Figueroa = Great talent.
Right back = Emerson Boyce = Great untill the summer.
Left centre back = sol cambell = Great leadership/experiance etc untill summer then become backroom staff for defence problems !!
Right centre back = Waldo ponce = Great speed/passing/attacking.
Right wing = Charle N’Zogbia = Great talent.
Left wing = Victor moses = Great talent. Deal already apparently wrapped up.
Defence centre mid = Hendry thomas. Great talent & getting better by the game. Rated already 86% tackle success rate….thats 4th best in prem.
Attacking centre mid = Kevin Nolan = Great leader/passer/can score goals/still only 27 years old.
Striker 1 = Hugo Rodallega = Great talent = With Support = world class!
Striker 2 = Can see = Jackson Martinez coming our way = Same type of player as darren bent.
      Striker 3 = Matty fryatt = only 23 = hungary/fighter/eye for goal/can only get better. league 1 08/09 season app 46 goals 27. This season championship app 21 goals 11.

Would this be the fighting/flare footballing team taking us towards martinez perfect 3rd transfer window – make us non relegation candidates :!: :?: :!:

I admire your optimism, but feel the need to ask the following:

Where have you heard that the Moses deal is almost done when it seems that every other club in Britain seems to be after him?

Where has Matty Fryatt’s name appeared from? Has he been linked with us? Looks good on paper – but I give you the name David Connolly.

Would you really want Sol Campbell when he would want a ridiculous salary, doesn’t have the ability to speak to his fellow players – let alone coach them, and was already painfully slow for Pompey last season and that was before taking half a season off?

Where’s Bramble gone? I’d have him in the team before Boyce.

Stojkovic has never played in England before, so how do we know he’s better than Kirkland?

Unfortunately, I saw us linked with him in the Sunday papers in the same paragraph as Rodallega leaving, I think. The link was that Bob knows him from Walsall.

If it’s true – and it probably isn’t – it would signal a very unambitious transfer window and give credence to the view that we are not prepared to splash the cash to try to guarantee survival in this division.

*edit: just to point out that I am not necessarily advovcating that we do splash silly cash to guarantee survival in this division.

at last griff you are coming over to the dark side ;)

That is indeed very poor news in my opinion, and if it turns out to be true, Loudmouth’s Nostradamus style prophecies are starting to seem more likely…..

I’m not mate, not at all. The window activity was always going to go one way or the other and this rumour indicates that it might be going the usual way  It is only Jan 4, however, so I remain optimistic.

If it does go the usual way, ie big sale out, cheap option in, I will still be there, supporting my club, whoever wears the shirt and whatever division we end up in.

However, if a super-rich benefactor wants to come along and replace Whelan and spend more money – without putting the club in hock, then I will be like the proverbial dog with two. Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening anytime soon and so I am overcome with realism.

Theres going to be 4-5 new faces in Wigan this month. Michael Ball has been training with Latics for a while now but, he’s to old.

What i post is being realistic. Eg- players / wages etc.

Lets go by the whelan policy – player out transfer money – to use for player in!

          summer outgoings – valencia = £17 million.
          – cattermole = £6 million.
          Total sales = £23 million.

Martinez spends in the summer = £7 million.

This leaves martinez with = £16 million to spend.

which would get us = moses £4 million
          = ponce £1.5 million
          = martinez £3 million
          = fryatt £3 million
          = nolan £5 million
          = cambell £Free
Total spend = 16.5 million oooooops just thought we’ve no chance!!

latest reports = Martinez gets an £8million war chest given him lol !! just what can we expect = Maybe a few league 1 players !?!

          Figueora= Great Talent???

I’ll tell you what fella, if you eally think this guy is any good you need your head testing!

At fault for 4 goals at Old Trafford because he can’t defend. If Hull had a decent striker at the weekend he’d have had a bag full, simply because of Figs’ awful defending.

The amount of goals we have conceded down the left side this season has been shocking.

Yeah, he can score from the half way line, but i’m afraid that’s not what he’s in the team for.

Watch him closely against Villa on Saturday, see how far away from their right winger he constantly positions himself.
Valencia must have been lonely last Wednesday, as was Hulls’ winger on Saturday. Come to think of it, every right sided midfielder who’s played against him this season must have been reaching for the Lynx once they’ve returned to the dressing room.

          HE IS USELESS!

          HE CAN NOT DEFEND!!

IF SUNDERLAND WANT HIM, I’LL DRIVE HIM UP THERE!!!

£8 MILLION?? HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

              Appleybridge !

Be realistic here……..If you think we can afford to let fig go as he is a bag of **** in your mind !! Then who would you seriously bring here in our current state who will show fig how a left back should play ??

NONE ATALL COME TO MY MIND KID…………..

              Trueblue.

Admittedly at the beginning of the season I was looking forward to Edman coming back. He looked like a really solid, steady left back last season until his injury. . . . . . . Unfortunately I witnessed the 10 goal thriller against Tottenham where Edman was. . . . erm. . . . . absolute cack!!

In reply to your question, I honestly don’t know where a left back can be found, but as I said earlier, the goals conceded due to Figs’ lack of positional knowldge and ball watching this season has been embarrasing.

I’d love to know how many goals have come due to crosses that could / should have been cut out in the left back area this season. I’d have a wager at around 25%.

Again, as stated earlier, watch him a little closer on Saturday. You’ll find yourself shouting like a f00king lunatic at him!!!!

I’d agree Figueroa has been disappointing this season, better going forward than defensively. As for a LB, what about Nicky Shorey, experienced at Premier League level and although not the greatest, he’s quite a steady, reliable player

Iv watched all high score drubbings this season also, but to be fair a team is 11 fighting to keep possesion/tackle/pass/attack/defend etc ! If for eg. fig gets beat then one of the two centre back should be in place to cut the ball out from opposing team…….if centre back/s fail then keeper should be in place to save ball/catch ball etc. Its a team thing and to me and many of thousand wiganers, fig is part of a wigan team we are trying to build around – along with n’zog- roda & thomas !!
Ill watch as closely as your wanting me too on saturday, but he will make more tackles for us than crosses are put in against us !!

                  Get your counting head on………………
