Do you think he’ll spit his dummy and not appear for us again?
And for James to note – there was cheering at the DW tonight…. when that board was held up.
Straight down the tunnel he went. A legend in his own mind.

Yeah…Insulting our longest serving player and cheering his exit. Great. Have a bad game and latics fans hate you… No wonder people don’t want to sign and no wonder players want to leave.
15 April 2010 at 1:38 am #29523Apparently had a spat with McCarthy in the tunnel at half time, with Kirky and Bramble pulling them apart.

I’ll take criticism from people who were there.
15 April 2010 at 1:39 am #29526If one good thing comes from tonight it’s that Austrian ponce won’t be seen again in the shirt. Bye bye to a big club – Young Boys Berne perhaps
15 April 2010 at 1:40 am #29528He was totally crepe tonight.
How can anyone think he is a midfielder….?
He got what he deserved tonight.
15 April 2010 at 1:42 am #29532I think the cheering was a bit out of order when Scharner’s number came up on the board.
He is a drama queen and a primadonna and, like you say, a legend in his own mind but he was just one part of a very poor side tonight.

Tonight Sharner was an absolute disgrace, his and other players attitudes, not ability, is the reason we deserve to go down.15 April 2010 at 1:43 am #29536Do you think he’ll spit his dummy and not appear for us again?

Longest serving doesn’t = quality. And I’m sure the cheering wasn’t just referring to today’s game. Plus 15,000 odd fans can’t be wrong.
That said, it felt like we lost a our momentum after he went off.15 April 2010 at 1:45 am #29539Do you think he’ll spit his dummy and not appear for us again?

15 April 2010 at 1:52 am #29548If one good thing comes from tonight it’s that Austrian ponce won’t be seen again in the shirt. Bye bye to a big club – Young Boys Berne perhaps :shock:They’re Swiss mate: I fail to see the correlation.
Scharner was poor tonight, and whoever told him (or Bobby) that he’s a midfielder needs shooting in the face. However, booing him as he left the field is simply not on. He’s our longest serving player and somebody who is willing to stick his head and foot in (something which a lot on here bemoan a lack of in our current squad).
If we lose 8-0, booing our own players would still be wrong.

I know where Berne is

Even if they where playing Beech Hill Primary School Under 8’s?
15 April 2010 at 1:57 am #29555He wasn’t booed off, as I recall, but the substitution was cheered. A subtle difference. Mainly I think for us making the clear and obvious substitution, rather than the bizarre ones that we usually make (eg bring Moses on with 3 minutes to go).
The fact that Scharner was clearly identified as being inept (and not just tonight) should not be of concern to anyone but himself. He needs to prove people wrong, not as I suspect he will, sulk.
15 April 2010 at 2:12 am #29573Scharner’s become increasingly petulant in recent times – three needless bookings in four games if I remember. Evidently he was trying to blame some pass he sold short on poor McCarthy going down the tunnel.
Also, did anyone notice he took ten minutes to leave the field when subbed? As if we were away from home and wanted to waste time or something?
