Bog difference, we wasn’t facing Everton, West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal for the next 4 games. Also the players were not replacements
for the millions of pounds worth of talent we had just sold. Tell me, when will you become worried, or does the future of our club not concern you?

As is said in pre season i’ll see what the score is after 12/14 games. If we get a point on Sunday 4 points from the start we have had won’t be a bad return.

What expectations from Villa, Wolves, United and Everton did you have?

We are Wigan, not Arsenal. We are always going to be up against it.

As for being worried about the future, posting endless drivel on here after a couple of games is hardly the way forward is its?

There we go again, because were Wigan we should accept it. If you happy and contented ok. I post to vent frustration, like at football when I sing and support the team, I want my voice to be heard. Just sitting there smile on face, persuading yourself everything is fine isn’t for me.

Here we go again nothing, like it or not you have to accept where we stand in the big picture. We have to find a balance. We have spent since January not far off 20 million at a guess. Yes we have made more than that from player sales but we also have a debt of 60 million to service.

We have the lowest gates in the league, the cheapest prices yet people want us to lash millions on players all the time?

Maybe we could do what Portsmouth have done? Newcastle? Or even worse Leeds?

Moan and groan all you want but try and be realistic about it.

You think our gates aren’t related. When DW appointed Lindsay, a lot of fans took exception. Then every year when it looks like were coming good, bang. £60m in debt, you think Whelan operates at a loss, he dumped JJB when he wasn’t making enough. He wanted the rubgy, you reckon he was making money when he sold them. Some of you are twisted round his little finger.

Take a look at the company accounts.

How many football clubs make money?

Still, ignore the fact and keep ranting. Its proving your a better fan than me anyway.

How many Premiership clubs sell their team every year.
If you’re happy with the way the clubs being run, good on you.

What would it take to get some of you showing feelings? Humiliated by Blackpool and alls well?

Too many ‘Happy Clappers’ follow Latics, mate. The ‘glass is half-full brigade’. Anybody who is still relaxed about things after that capitualation last night, mustn’t be a proper fan. That’s all I can think. I’ve slated Bruce like crazy, but at least we did the simple things right. Now, we look like a bunch of blokes who have just met for a kickabout.
I do wonder if our coaching staff are experienced enough at the top level? We have Graham Barrow warming the players up…….we got him from Altrincham, didn’t we? Dear god, his past history at the club apart, would ANY other top-flight club have gone to Altrincham for staff? Would they hell.

I know we’re sh*t, and YOU know we’re sh*t. God knows what other people are seeing.

Shat it this season, I tell thee.[/quote]]

Don’t mean to sound offensive or anything, but if you don’t like being a Latics fan, no one’s forcing you to be one. If you want us to be a championship team, then why don’t you support a championship team.

Bobby, everybody understands your viewpoint but just because you have that opinion doesn’t necessarily make it right does it?

Your entitled to your view and so is everyone else.

Not good enough last night on the field, for whatever reason. I’m sure that’s been covered elsewhere on 1000’s of posts calling for Martinez to go and Whelan to sell up or spend a billion pound etc.

However, the attitude of a number of our fans was appalling. We took a good following, 1500 maybe, with lots of old face’s there.

It seemed to be a bit of an eye opener for the Premier League only lot

Some lads behind us (when I say lads they were old enough to know better) seemed to be disgusted at the thought that Premier League Wigan could be getting beat 3-0 by “Blackpool…. I don’t even know what league they are in but they are S*ite”

“I’m not coming to this whale watching Wigan again they shouldn’t even be allowed to open the ground when it’s like this”

Never saw Springfield Park then I take it?

We will never, ever be an established Premier League team, we have been punching above our weight for a while now and if some people had bothered to show an interest in the towns football team before 2005 they might have known that getting beat at Blackpool and places like that was part for the course. When we were in the Championship we took great delight in upsetting teams who had the attitude “we should be beating teams like Wigan” its pretty embarrassing if we are going down that road

I have paid my money, I am a long-standing fan, I expect a better performance than last nights. I am entitled to expresss my concerns (even though you might not agree with what I say, just as you are entitled to your opinions) that we are just not good enough at present and I can fully understand the attitude of many of our fans who believe that the club is not good enough at present. Sorry to sound very harsh, but I feel that you are unfair to say that the attitude of our fans was appalling and just because someone never saw Wigan play at Springfield Park does not mean that they are not a loyal fan.

Well said that man. All this bollocks about ‘the future of the club in jeapordy’ is pure hogwash. If we were breaking the bank to stay up, then I’d be worried about the club.

All you who are castigating Whelan for not spending £10M+ on a striker should weigh up the cost of him *giving* us the stadium he paid for**. That’s far better for the security of the club long term than buying a lad who could break his leg walking the dog…

**Before anyone starts, I didn’t say he solely paid for the stadium, but his contribution wasn’t in monopoly money.

Nobody wants him to buy anybody, just stop selling our assets. Stop telling lies. Cattermoles not for sale at any price, lets fans go and have his name printed on their shirts, then sells him. When we first came up, the new kit will not change for three years, what did we do? Publicly telling every person and club in the land, ”were a selling club, so if you want anyone this is where to come” Even touting Martinez saying he will one day be at a big club before he started his Wigan job.
Yes he gave us the stadium, but decided it should be called DW, gave a 50 year lease to rugby and named one of our stands after a rugby mon. Its as much our stadium as a new Ferrari is mine.
