Not good enough last night on the field, for whatever reason. I’m sure that’s been covered elsewhere on 1000’s of posts calling for Martinez to go and Whelan to sell up or spend a billion pound etc.
However, the attitude of a number of our fans was appalling. We took a good following, 1500 maybe, with lots of old face’s there.
It seemed to be a bit of an eye opener for the Premier League only lot
Some lads behind us (when I say lads they were old enough to know better) seemed to be disgusted at the thought that Premier League Wigan could be getting beat 3-0 by “Blackpool…. I don’t even know what league they are in but they are S*ite”
“I’m not coming to this whale watching Wigan again they shouldn’t even be allowed to open the ground when it’s like this”
Never saw Springfield Park then I take it?
We will never, ever be an established Premier League team, we have been punching above our weight for a while now and if some people had bothered to show an interest in the towns football team before 2005 they might have known that getting beat at Blackpool and places like that was part for the course. When we were in the Championship we took great delight in upsetting teams who had the attitude “we should be beating teams like Wigan” its pretty embarrassing if we are going down that road
I have paid my money, I am a long-standing fan, I expect a better performance than last nights. I am entitled to expresss my concerns (even though you might not agree with what I say, just as you are entitled to your opinions) that we are just not good enough at present and I can fully understand the attitude of many of our fans who believe that the club is not good enough at present. Sorry to sound very harsh, but I feel that you are unfair to say that the attitude of our fans was appalling and just because someone never saw Wigan play at Springfield Park does not mean that they are not a loyal fan.
I’m not bothered how long anyone has been going but the day we start acting the big bollocks at clubs like Blackpool is a sad day for Wigan Athletic in my book.
We dont have a right to beat teams just because we have been in the Premiership for 4 seasons, from where i was sat they fancied it more than our collection of reserves and players on the way out. Its not a big deal we are 4 games into the season.

True. We are still a Championship club, at best. The sooner we get back there and stop dreaming of things that are far beyond our capability and ambition, or rather that of the ‘powers that be’, the better.
It’s like we’re ‘playing’ at being a top flight club. It’s as if Whelan’s playing a game like “We’re in the Premiership….great…..but we’re not going to back that up with decent signings…..and we’ll see how long we can stretch it out for”.
Been bloody lucky so far. Escaped on GOAL DIFFERENCE at Sheff Utd, and other seasons, other clubs were so poor, it made it easier. It’s not going to happen this season.
No mention or hint of relegation here then eh Dave ???
Take him down ! Yes your honour !!
So dont slate me for saying it now then, and then running and hiding behind the ” Rose Tinted Glasses ” brigade ! It has got worse since you said those things because of one thing …..Time !! How much longer !!

HAS it got worse? Have we not beat Chelsea since then, drawn with City, and narrowly got beat at Liverpool? And have we not shipped out some of the dead wood and brought in Celtic’s skipper, the South American top scorer, and also the hottest property in England?
No, things haven’t changed, have they?
