Lost his appeal. How for Gods sake?

The entire football community say it was wrong – The FA disagree.

      What chance have we got?

They don’t like admitting they’re wrong especially after all the controversy over the other mistakes made at the weekend so it had to be pretty much a nailed on error. Derry did have a hand on Young which was enough of an excuse for them not to rescind it.

Hopefully this will act as a warning to our defenders tomorrow night.

Derry did indeed touch Young but with hardly enough force to knock an average 2 year old toddler over. With Young that really is all the encouragement he needs.

Make sure Young gets the boo treatment and shouts of cheat every time he gets the ball !!

They should use what I call the “Granny in the pension queue” test. If the contact would have been enough to send your granny sprawling across the Post Office floor complete with triple somersault, then it’s a foul/penalty. If not, it aint! All this “he felt a contact” is complete cobblers.

I can’t see why anyone would think it would be rescinded. The offside decision had nothing to do with the next passage of play and the ref had no option but to send the lad off for grabbing Young when last man, with no cover in the box.

Me and the father in law have a theory that if you let a player go in such a circumstance 80% of the time he won’t score. Even if he does score you’re left with 11 men on the pitch and a chance to get the goal back.

Sammy Young was offside in the first place so even though Derry pushed him in the back the first incident of offside should of been called surely

But they aren’t reviewing the offside, are they? The appeal by QPR is to challenge the sending-off.

I know what your saying but before the push young was offside and that the linesman should have flagged that first the fact he didn’t and it was QPR and at old trafford as nowt do with it   so Derry wouldn’t of been sent off had the correct offside decision been made

On what planet should that card not be recinded? The gutless corrupt FA sat round a table and saw the slo-mo and deemed it right Derry should have gone. The ref made a mistake ok but them duffers at Soho Square saw all the replays and now they have given licence to players like Young to carry on diving. The correct action would have been to overturn the red card and give Young a yellow card for simulation.Just as baffling is the decision to let Ballotelli off with his x-rated tackle on Song simply because the ref saw it and took no action. What the fook is the ref thinking if he thought that was a fair challenge? Ballotelli gets off coz the ref saw it and Ivanovic gets canned coz the ref didnt, weird rules

It’s done to protect the officials so there’s a massive bias towards upholding the decision they made at the time.
Derry had a hand on Young and the referee saw it. Young went down (doesn’t matter how theatrically) and the referee saw it as a penalty. Derry was the last man so he was red-carded. No need to change the decision.

I was quite surprised Sammon got away with that at OT. His hand was up and made contact so they could quite easily have said the right call was made. Maybe they decided to reverese that one to balance things up!

There is absolutely no way the ref saw that ballotelli challenge, there were 2 players in his line of sight at the moment of impact, and he was on the blindside of the challenge in any case. What he should have said was that he saw the coming together of ballotelli and song, and didn’t see an infringement, however, I was unsighted, so would not be able to say 100% there was no foul, only that I didn’t see one. That would be more honest, and he’d get more respect for it, but what are the consequences for them at the moment? They should be getting bans themselves if they make mistakes and can’t reasonably explain them!

John doe it depends which Ballotelli horendous tackle you mean imo he should of been sent off earlier and also how a manager of the standard that Mancini is decided to keep him on that long is beyond me

It’s inconceivable to think the referee saw that tackle by Ballotelli and didn’t think it was anything other than a red card.

Exactly! So when the FA ask the ref did you see it, and he says yes, and did you think it was a red or yellow card, and he answers no, right then, you’re obviously not qualified to officiate a football match, there’s your P45!
It’s not difficult is it? All the ref has to do is be honest, and all the FA have to do is be fair, as it is, between them they’re making the game a farce, the players deserve better after working hard to get where they are, and the fans definately deserve better after paying their hard earned only to be robbed of a fair game.
As for Mancini, I don’t think he yet has any ‘calibre’, I think given Balotellis antics this season he shouldn’t have been near the first team, and a manager with calibre would have fired him off long ago, can you honestly see a ferguson, wenger or moyes putting up with an ounce of the shit that he’s pulled?
Balotelli will be gone in the summer, and so will Mancini, nailed on!
