My head says hold fire until this mess unravels and we have a clear plan for the way forward.
My heart says spend my money and keep my fingers crossed; and if it all goes Pete Tong next season could single the end of a lifelong relationship with football, not just the Latics. How does everyone else feel at the moment ?
13 March 2023 at 10:29 pm #198751Despite all the mess around the club, I just know I’ll be renewing sooner or later, probably sooner.
Is it an illness?
Or unrequited love?
13 March 2023 at 10:36 pm #198752Tough call at the moment. Ultimately everyone will have to make their own decision on their attitude to the risk of potentially losing ££ if the worst happens.
I don’t believe for a moment that the sales were pulled at 1830 on Thursday the day before release due to “ongoing technological improvements”…..
Personally, obviously I want to renew (preferably at the early price!) but I’ll leave until the last day of the early price. Do pay on a credit card anyone who can to get “Section 75” protection. If you go with the club’s instalments plan you would likely lose any money you’ve already paid if the worst happens.
Trying to stay positive, but it’s difficult to see this ending well.
14 March 2023 at 12:47 pm #198762100 % but only on credit card in view of recent developments.
Very difficult to remain positive , late payment of wages is grim stuff in any workplace and usually only goes one way.14 March 2023 at 3:11 pm #198766Would be out of our minds to renew with the crap going on,credit card or not.. They’ve cancelled the renewal process for whatever reason so they should extend the early bird offer. If they don’t and I have to pay the increased price then I won’t be renewing ours. Tallals statement was a meaningless piece of waffle. Maloney would have certainly asked for assurances that the wage issue wouldn’t reoccur during his interview……so they obviously bullshitted him. Brannigan is being hung out to dry and albeit we already look relegated there is still hope the players could battle their way to safety only for these incompetents getting us a 3pt penalty. The silence this season from them, wages screwd up and potentially more worrying club existence issues in the background……people should protest with their wallets because as previously stated they’ll keep churning out the “everything’s fine” line whilst they undercover of darkness climb in the lifeboats and quietly slink of into the night….leaving us yet again with a listing ship. My trust has severely evaporated and the owners silence compounds my keep my dosh in my bank policy!!!!
14 March 2023 at 3:24 pm #198767If things were to go horribly wrong with the situation at the moment then I’m finished with Football .. not defeatist , jealous , spitting my dummy out .. then that will be ‘ it ‘ !
15 March 2023 at 11:28 am #198780I’m with Lostock & Italia on this. And had we have folded during the administration year, I would have been done with football for good, even the World Cup & Euros.
If we are to go t1t5 up again, then it’s a case of that’s all folks!
15 March 2023 at 2:44 pm #198782Very worrying times
Why is talal staying away last year he was here a lot and enjoying it here now it’s like Lord lucan vanished from face of the earth
I reckon things are going on behind the scenes just like the Chinese
No way will I put any money up front just to see it vanish has quick as talal15 March 2023 at 4:15 pm #198783You have to have a screw loose to give the club your hard earned money. They still haven’t paid last week’s wages. The last 3 times it was missed on the Friday and paid on the Monday.
Believe ?,I believe we never had a holding account to pay wages because were skint,
I believe we’re gonna get 3pts deducted confirming relegation,
I believe administration is only a matter of time
Oh I, I’m a believer alright
15 March 2023 at 4:22 pm #198784Spot on cup winners we are fucked et muttyis loving this if we go under let’s hope bulldozer comes in and flattens the stadium rather than let the twats get hold of it
15 March 2023 at 6:12 pm #198787john [ Bickymon ] .. this is my take … regarding those twats [ which ] they are .. I think they’d be grabbing the shitty end of a stick imo ..as tennants , they’re living virtualy ‘ free ‘ at the DW . if they were to own the Stadium then they’d have to FULLY support it .. they’ve just LOST another £1.9 million .. no chance !! Plus , if they too folded , where does that leave the Council ??
15 March 2023 at 10:52 pm #198794The ground is a huge financial burden just to keep it up & running, the pitch, under soil heating, grass lights and all the staff.
Lenagan doesn’t want the ground, he’s happy to rent rather than be the Landlord it’s far cheaper that way to him.
If we go t*ts up that ground will 100% be bulldozered. It’s a sole purpose structure. It’s not like a large unit that can change from b&q to storage units, it’s a stadium and if it’s not been used then it will get knocked down for sure.
This is why I said both codes need help with money for this ground from the council. If not this town runs the risk of both codes folding with no were to play.
The ground is tired and will need a fair few bob spending on it to bring it back to life.
16 March 2023 at 2:06 pm #198797Spot on Italia
But if worst came to the worst I’m sure the council would jump in to help them16 March 2023 at 5:24 pm #198798Spot on cup winners we are fucked et muttyis loving this if we go under let’s hope bulldozer comes in and flattens the stadium rather than let the twats get hold of it
Sorry to disappoint you chap, but unlike you, I want every sporting club in Wigan to do well.

If you did Mutty you would support Wigan Athletic.
