There are quite a few threads on here lately that have been ruined by people going on about other peoples spelling and grammar. Does it really matter? if you get the jist of what someones trying to say whats the problem?
I think quite a few people on here need to get out more.I think one reason is because of the new thing where you get promoted to team captain or whatever, people are just typing any old drivel just to get their post count up.
Surely quality of post is more important than quantity.(if i’v spelt anything wrong, i dont give a t0ss)

I’m afraid you don’t realise that to us pedants threads are ruined by bad spelling, punctuation and grammar.
…and there are actually eight errors in your post :D

Thought at first it was a thread about the presenter of Gillette Soccer Saturday and my dad’s mum, Gwynneth.

Sniper’s right. In an ideal world, everybody would spell things correctly and whatnot, but a lot of threads are being derailed by people going on about minor grammatical errors and what-have-you.

Mr Prescott
Thanks for ‘getting it’ but my further attempt at lightheartedness fell on stoney ground and received an instant removal from ‘admin’.
As well as you, and probably many others here, I too agree with Snipers’ sentiment – hence my resitance to ‘chip in’ in other threads thereby taking them off topic.
However, some people need to lighten up – or at least ask if they don’t understand what’s going on……. :?
26 May 2010 at 12:03 pm #34804On a public forum, I reserve the right to wind people up or take the pi$$ on any subject I like. If that winds said people up then all the better as far as I’m concerned.
I would love nothing more than to have exclusively serious debates on all matters football (with the odd bit of grown-up humour thrown in) but there are only a handful on this forum who could hack it so it just isn’t going to happen.
As for the rest, I have no problem taking my brain out and stooping to their level.
