13 March 2017 at 2:04 am #156689So tell me which season we had a worse squad!
14/15 one was pretty inept! With some supposed ex prem players in it..
We’ve got a decent spine in this team that with a decent manager could more than hold their own in this league. It’s criminal that we are in this position.
14 March 2017 at 6:48 pm #156820Just because of who his dad is we should now look to Warnock to become more of a leader on the pitch he must pick his dads brains and like him or not Colin Wanker is one of the best in the business at this level. A word in the ear and Warnock the younger may just make a difference .Has to be a wind up surely?
On the subject of Warnock, is it just me or has his form dipped over the last month or so. The negativity of the rest of the squad seems to be getting to him and he can’t turn it around.

I don’t think it is a wind up :blink:I agree with you on Warnock though. His form has dipped. But as you say, that could be down to the negativity.
Barrow seems to be making all the right noises in the press today though – saying you need to be in the box to score, you can’t score from the halfway line and that he knows what pleases Wiganers and he’ll be drilling that into the players before Saturday.
Sounds very much to me like he’s been a frustrated bystander.

Let’s hope he turns those sound bites into reality, I don’t think anyone minds losing if we give it everything we’ve got.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

Carson, Taylor, McLean, Huws, Perch, McMannaman, Watson & Al Habsi all got sold or moved on freebies to Premier or Championship Clubs. Cowie, Tavernier & Waghorn have done alright in Scotland.
I’d suggest that the 14/15 squad was actually pretty good, but somehow got ruined by either Uwe Rostler, or (if he hadn’t lost the dressing room) his sacking. The racism charge against DW, his subsequent ban and resignation, and the hiring of Malky McKay made a bad situation much worse.

Not to mention a certain Maloney and James McArthur. Three disastrous signings and sales in Forshaw, Riera and Delort in the mix too in what was a squad that should have gone up and not down.15 March 2017 at 4:06 am #156844Glad he has gone but am not sure barrow is the one to get em motivated and winning 5 out of last 9 games, cos that is what will be needed
15 March 2017 at 1:47 pm #156858So who were the 4 left with egg on their faces who probably actually believed that the negative idiot would be spared his job?

So if that squad was “pretty good” why did they get relegated? Poor chairman? Poor manager? Club in turmoil? Maybe, but the players under achieved so for me were poorer than this squad today. And by the way, how many of them players since leaving us have achieved anything of note? And even the most average of players can look good in Scotland..
We know what we are now which is a championship club, with players to suit. This squad is more than capable of staying in this league so it ain’t as bad as 14/15 squad. -
