I really get the impression ,from the stories coming out this afternoon, that someone is desperately trying to throw a spanner in the works regarding our Spanish takeover. If the Spaniards have exclusivity and have proof of funds, that should be it and we can all move on.It shows a complete lack of respect, for someone to come in at such a late hour ,where have they been all summer? I smell a rat !
15 November 2020 at 8:12 pm #189974If the spanish have proof of funds then why have they not been approved already?
No harm in having a back up plan.
15 November 2020 at 8:39 pm #189975Because after whats happened in our past they are going OTT in their checks.
Thier probably checking the parents bank accounts and making sure they’ve no links with Sticky Vicky in Benidorm16 November 2020 at 7:26 am #189976If what I hear coming out about a late offer from abroad is true then I personally feel these Spanish need to move over.
While respecting their wish to retain anonymity, we can reveal the group is fronted by a Wigan-born businessman – a Latics and Warriors fan – who moved to Australia and then South East Asia almost four decades ago.
The group, who deal in commodity and financial trading, has serious money behind it – they own some 58 companies across the world, including Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.”
The likes of Lennegan know this guys name and have given him the nod. Apparently they talk in billions not millions.
Again, admin are picking and choosing our future.
My only doubt is, why tf leave it so late?, if its true were have has he been throughout the whole process ?.16 November 2020 at 10:01 am #189979My preference would be to let the Spaniards take over. They are proper football people,I think under them we could slowly but surely move forward .If a Wigan born business man had genuine interest in Wigan Athletic he should have put his cards on the table months ago ,for me it’s too late in the day and smacks of desperation .Why should the Spanish “move over”? They have done everything right it’s the EFL that’s been delaying the process .I just wonder if someone with EFL connections has been whispering in their ear ?Someone let’s say ,who would love to have control of the stadium and also have their foot on our throat to keep us permanently in Division One /Two.
16 November 2020 at 12:16 pm #189980These new guys that have just surfaced just seem to be a bunch of chancers to me. They’ve been conducting their business on Twitter and seemingly have been recruiting the gullible among the twitterati to undermine the Spanish bid.
To quote the great Zaphod Beeblebrox “I would trust them as far as I can comfortably spit a rat”
16 November 2020 at 2:41 pm #189981Would the efl really drag this out and run the risk of us going bust?
17 November 2020 at 10:33 am #189998Jigsaw boy .the EFL dont give two flying fucks about our club….you not recognize it with that face fuck Rick parry.
17 November 2020 at 1:01 pm #189999Would the efl really drag this out and run the risk of us going bust?
How they treated Sheffield Weds compared to us id say yeah they’d like it.
I think secretly they’d all have a semi on if that happened and that fat ugly cnut Krasner would be smirking behind his parachute size face mask. He could do with keeping that on when Covids overwith.
19 November 2020 at 10:01 am #190007Has Lisa Nandy actually spoken to the Spanish ? To me ,their proposals seem very sensible. She seems very blinkered in her opinion that we need local ownership.I don’t suppose it has occurred to her that certain local parties might ulterior motives.

19 November 2020 at 2:15 pm #190009Why doesn’t Nandy wait until the final decision is made by the EFL on the Spanish bid.
The Spaniards were the First to put money on the table, they have proved that they can fund the £5m for 2 seasons and more money if needed, they have not promised instant promotions.
If the Spanish bid fails, then the other bidders can join in and put their money on the table
19 November 2020 at 2:41 pm #190010For whatever reason she is trying to put pressure on the EFL to reject the Spanish bid.I personally don’t like the sound of any of the alternatives. As you say she needs to wait until the EFL have made their decision. The Spanish have put their money on the table, unlike some. Why have they waited until now? for me it’s too late and the Spanish should be given their chance.
19 November 2020 at 4:59 pm #190011If they haven’t answered all the questions after nearly 8 weeks then they should be told to f*** off.
Nandy is right, this just kicks the can down the road why the Spanish have a chat with the efl.
How does it take 8 weeks to show a bank statement, passport and spreadsheet?
19 November 2020 at 10:43 pm #190013Now that Lenagan and Nandy have spoken today I fully expect an announcement from the EFL tomorrow rejecting the Spanish bid for no good reason. Watch this space!
