The Spanish have submitted funding plans for the next two years and beyond ,this has been approved by the administrators, they are happy to continue with or without the supporters club being involved. The main stumbling block seems to have been the Council and the rent arrangements for the Rugby. This now seems to have been resolved and they can move forward. If you now want to go back to the drawing board with new bidders that may or may not exist and might or might not have sufficient funds, then fine but the process will take another two or three months and we will be absolutely doomed to relegation and more uncertainty.
This is now a matter of urgency,we need to give the Spanish a chance. If the new bidders are genuine ( for me ,if they were they would have been in the process months ago )then ,maybe they will return when the Spanish are looking to sell in three or four years time.Totally agree with you Phoenix.
If those so called bidders, with squillions to spare, have taken so long to throw their cap in the ring; then I smell a rat !I think the Spaniards have a legitimate shout if the Rugby have been ducking the rent because they have no revenue from attendances. Think Uncle Dave gave them the sort of deal that they wouldn’t get from anyone that doesn’t have a soft spot for them. Now is the time for the Rugby lodgers to step up to the mark and pay a fair share of rent.
As for the supporters fund, I think a 5% share is a fair exchange for a one off sum. Great effort from the supporters, but running a football club is an absolute money pit that requires continued investment; not just a one off lifeline. So all in all I think it is fair if you consider what it’s going to take over the next five or ten years to bring success back to the Latics.
23 November 2020 at 1:35 pm #190032The budget has noute to do with the admins pho eix lad. Tehy have to supply that to yhe efl. If they dont think its sustainable they’ll reject it.
That will include asking the goons for rent they cant afford because when they cant pay we will have to.
I just get the impression these guys have an amount of money and nothing else leaving the club in the poop when it runs out in 2 years or maybe even less.
23 November 2020 at 1:59 pm #190033I beg to differ ,the admin have to find the budget proposals acceptable in order to present them to the EFL for approval. Everything is now in place for the EFL to give that approval ,if they don’t then we are back to square one.I really am sceptical regarding these new bidders ,don’t forget at the start of all this there were over fifty interested parties , most of them turned out to be time wasters .At least the Spanish have put the money on the table and presented a realistic way forward.
23 November 2020 at 2:45 pm #190034The budget is approved by the EFL. The admins are just after the asking price.
23 November 2020 at 2:46 pm #190035Granted they might check it over, but just because they say yes doesn’t mean the EFL will as it isn’t their remit to do so.
25 November 2020 at 5:33 pm #190085According to the Talksport the final meeting between the Spaniards and the gobshites at the EFL takes place tomorrow.
Fuck the EFL
25 November 2020 at 7:17 pm #190087We need a result pronto, we have had 8 replays, 8 extra times, we need a golden goal!
26 November 2020 at 9:19 pm #190092Just hearing that Kendrick is saying there is still an issue with the lease.I thought substantial progress had been made that’s why the Spanish had submitted their ‘final’ paperwork. I can’t take much more of this.
28 November 2020 at 8:18 am #190094The lease is fine, its the EFL going from
“How much you got Pal ??, show us your wallet”,To
“We need to know if your nan opened you a bank account when you were born. Also, do you have a Kays catalogue?, eBay account?, and we need to see your Nectar and Tesco points or there’s no deal”.
The EFL are now taking the piss, 8 weeks to check someone’s credentials??.. Na doesn’t rub off with me they have an issue with us
28 November 2020 at 9:37 am #190097After last time I hope they go further back than their nan.
People criticising the EFL need to think what their reaction would be if these guys are given the keys to the club and then do an Au Yeung on us.
Take your time EFL, and make sure you get it right.

I know what your’e saying and to some point agree, but 8 weeks is taking the piss!
Fuck the EFL
28 November 2020 at 10:04 am #190101They must have found something dodgy to be dragging it out this long.
28 November 2020 at 10:36 am #190102Apparently the only thing outstanding now is the owners and directors test.’Only’,surely should have been the first thing they looked at.Get the impression the EFL are stringing this out for as long as possible just to make absolutely sure we have no chance of staying up.
