Slept on yesterday, the first half wasn’t good to watch at all. We had a patch in the second half when we played really well, driven by Pilkington, we also showed a fantastic level of commitment defending the lead at the end. Player wise picks was good, Ballogan looked steady, Lowe looked lightweight and made bad decisions at key times (like when he should have pulled the ball back in the first half) but he did contribute well for the goal, geldhart, I think he may have a touch of the Bertie big bollocks about him, see him moaning near the end when the ball went across the goal instead of going chasing the ball down into the corner?
Biggest thing is the the three points, hard fought against a tough but not great side23 February 2020 at 12:29 pm #185255At this point in the season, the way you win is irrelevant.
March will decide where you finish. Playing Luton, Huddersfield, & Stoke. 6 points minimum needed from these three.
23 February 2020 at 12:47 pm #185256At this point in the season, the way you win is irrelevant.Very true!
23 February 2020 at 12:52 pm #185258Had to watch the game on TV in Spain whilst on holiday, thought the team as a whole played well. It wasn’t pretty but I’ll take that every game from now. Thought that Millwall should have been down to 10 men after 2 minutes, nasty and deliberate foul on Morsy that could have seen him taken off.
Keep the faith.23 February 2020 at 2:33 pm #185262As per usual Roy and Barlow dislike anyone else’s opinion if they’re not nads deep on Cook. Its bloody obvious that it’s the 3pts that matter at this stage and certain players deserve a positive mention ,Pilkington, Balogan…..but sorry if you find it offensive that I dare criticise the constant inclusion of certain bombproof players who all season have underperformed and been carried. Cook continues to show a pig headed stubbornness to give them a rest . Moore outstanding but he will not further his goalscoring achievements under this manager. Yes it was a decent 2nd half after an all too familiar crap 1st one. Agree March is a big one and no reason why we cant make it a good month but a run out for Garner and leaving Lowe/Jacobs/Evan’s on the bench would be a forward step.
23 February 2020 at 2:39 pm #185263Oh yes Roy …he did have a hand in the og…. that doesn’t justify a regular starting position. As for your analogy concerning Rovers….they’ve spend a nominal amount and continued to thrive without Dack. We lost sick note Powell and he keeps getting used as a reason we struggling. Cooks shocking team selections/substitutions and transfer activity are the reasons we are bottom 3….. .look hard….its not a myth you know.
23 February 2020 at 3:01 pm #185264Is it a myth that we are on paper the second smallest club in the league with only Luton averaging smaller attendances? Given our club size what would be realistic as a finishing position? Cook got us in this league to begin with and has so far kept us in this league whilst unearthing the odd gem with the squad now valued at way above the team he inherited.
23 February 2020 at 4:25 pm #185265WTF was Joffy doing in stoppage time trying to beat 2 men?? It’s little inexperienced things like that why he probably doesn’t get picked week on week. He’s a striker so possibly be was trying to score a goal.
What an idiot. He should have taken the ball to the corner and wasted time like his fellow striker Kieffer Moore did and probably most other strikers would have done. He lost the ball and 15 seconds later they crossed the ball into our box and won a corner from which they could have snatched a point. Schoolboy mistake.

Possibly one of our worst signings ever.23 February 2020 at 5:11 pm #185268Slept on yesterday, the first half wasn’t good to watch at all. Possibly one of our worst signings ever.[/quote]Bold statement when you consider some names of the past. Jeff Peron, Leigh Jenkinson, Brian McLaughlin, Julius Agahowa, Pasquale Bruno to name a few.
23 February 2020 at 5:43 pm #185269It was a great bit of wing play by Lowe for the goal yesterday and the kind of thing I remember him doing for Pompey. But for some we play him central and that doesn’t seem to be his strongest position.
23 February 2020 at 5:56 pm #185271I’ve sat back and read posts on this thread, the only conclusion I can make is that some of our fans are born fucking moaners! FFS we won the game, its totally irrelevant how we got the 3 points because for most of the season we’ve lost games when totally dominating.
As for Lowe, I’ve been critical of him as much as the next man but the lad puts a shift in and was totally responsible for us getting that OG. If he plays in every game for the rest of the season and his only contribution in the game is being part of us getting us a goal, then that will do for me.
Take a fekin hard look at yourselves those who look for every opportunity to moan, you are totally out of order looking for negatives after a win with the position we are in. I really hope we can get out of the bottom 3 if its only to shut your fucking gobs again for 5 mins! Rant over.. By the way I still want Cook out. From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!23 February 2020 at 6:01 pm #185272It was a great bit of wing play by Lowe for the goal yesterday and the kind of thing I remember him doing for Pompey. But for some we play him central and that doesn’t seem to be his strongest position.Well, that’s Cook to a tee isn’t it?
Round pegs in square holes is all he ever does.
Perhaps if he played him in his natural position he may get involved more and be more productive.Same with Naismith, there is no doubting he is a decent footballer, but we had a left back on the bench yesterday, so why play Kal there, and the ineffective Jacobs on the left wing.
Lowe is terrible in the role where Cook plays him, is it his fault or the managers?
He was never anywhere near Moore to get his knock downs and Moore made his feelings known more than once.Garner would be far more effective in that role, but I suppose that would look too much like playing with two up front for Cook, and that is where the problem lies, he is too stubborn to admit that the system he plays needs changing.
Everytime I have seen Garner, he works his balls off and causes havoc and panic in the defence of our opponenents, surely it must be worth a try playing him either off Moore or just behind him where Lowe is supposed to be.
23 February 2020 at 6:43 pm #185274Jr….what an absolute load of bollocks. Lowe is shit end of. Christ your happy with virtually no contribution???…We all hope we survive but theirs 1 f@@@@@@ big reason why were not higher up the league and it’s not Roy’s tosh (second smallest club) so should have zero ambition but to finish …..err 2nd bottom it’s the dick in the stand yesterday. I sit back and read your sporadic posts and you have your opinion (only one that counts) well you Stu,Roy and some of us have ours so ,cut out the shit of labelling everyone who sees it differently from you a moaner.!!!…
23 February 2020 at 7:34 pm #185275Read your posts on this thread starting with your first one. One fekin big rant about the team selection, totally unwarranted in that aggressive manner. You need to book an appointment with your doctor if that’s how wound up you get just on seeing the team selection.
Way over the top and no I don’t think I’m out of order posting a positive after a win, irrespective of who is the manager or who plays. It doesn’t mean I’m happy with everything at the club it means I’m happy with the 3 points. From Matlock to ManU
