I had the misfortune of taking up a Corporate offer yesterday. I say misfortune as, although the meal, service and padded seats are a welcome bonus on a matchday – I was sat several rows behind some real sad arse venting his spleen at Rosler. We all have our “why did he put him in the team moments” but this sad get really bust a blood vessel trying to let him know it. Sad, very sad.

Like many I enjoyed the match, good to see little change from the last outing, and was pleased Roger had the game he did in front of the doubters among us. I think that had he been given the opportunity to have played more games, last and this season, then his true potential and positive impact on the team and energy levels would be more appreciated.

Let me start this next bit by saying that I like Kiernan, however, in my opinion, I feel that Ramis would have been a better selection to start and that would have been a much stronger back four. Also Kiernan has the little annoyance of heading the ball at every opportunity instead of a quick look around, checking time and then trapping the ball. Ramis, however, is not without his faults as well – that long pass at the end of the game was shocking when he had so much room to maybe take it up a little, but he can mix it with central midfielders as well and knows how and when to just clear the ball.

Like someone else mentioned I felt McManaman was played out of position on the left and should have been on the right wing from the start where he is obviously more dangerous – but that’s the managers prerogative.

Again, a little surprised we played only one striker up front and, although I have great respect for Fortune, he really is a hold-up striker and can work better with a nippy, in-the-box striker, but again I’m not selecting the team nor have I seen the injury list or how the team have performed over the week on the training ground.

Negative: we conceded that penalty so late in the game. We need to learn to know when to stop the game and just run it down, and if that means lashing it upfield whenever it enters our half then so be it.

Positives: The players didn’t let going behind get to them (again). Gritty determination to play the ball. Better understanding between players (is that because there were not many changes?) and finally a faster paced game getting to the second ball more which really upsets the momentum of the opposition.

As Paul Jewell once said, the fans are superb at picking the team AFTER the game!

I must be seeing something different than some, thought Cowie was our MOM, closely followed by Fortune.

Forshaw just needs some consistency, so does Tavs. The central defenders were both woeful and should not see any further first team action for a while, one forced due to 3 match ban, the other is a no brainer.
Not sure who should play alongside Ramis on Tuesday, but would put Maloney in there before Kiernan. :woohoo:

Totally agree with you there JR

Cowie played well but I think Maloney should have started wide with cowrie in the middle.

Well then Back in the day. Thank goodness some fans are starting to show some emotion about this mess created by Rosler. It is just not good enough. The football churned out is now even more of a bore than than that shite we had to endure under Martinez and his record is abysmal compared to Could. The team and tactics change more than my grundies and watching players struggle by playing out of position is getting beyond the joke. Fans have a right to show they are not happy with this mess created by Rosler. Its crap!!

When fit, Watson and McCann will probably waltz straight back into the midfield, I would imagine replacing Huws and Cowie. But no, Cowie is not “dogshit”. However, thanks for such a reasoned, mature assessment and contibution to the debate.

What he is definitely not is a midfielder in the mould of MacLean, Maloney and McManaman so you’re comparing oranges and apples really.

Just nine days ago exactly the same team turned in a five star performance to beat the top of the league team in their own backyard. We haven’t actually lost in six games. It could be far worse.

Rubbish response, mate. Not nearly hysterical enough ;)

I’m all for a bit of passion donny but the manner in which it was displayed was an embarrassment to all around and especially coming from an man of his mature years. I agree that if the system/management/players/owners are all to cock (and it is obvious – just look at Blackpool at the moment) then yes, and it would be backed (in general) by the majority but he was out of order.

Call me old fashioned (cue Griff ;) ) but I go there to support and shout (when throat allows me) encouragement – I have been known to tut loudly at times. As LaticinLeigh said, the same team played the top of the league, at theirs, and beat them. We don’t see what goes on in the background so we (I for one) have to trust him for the time being; but if what this sad arse did constitutes support for the team then I am in the wrong stadium.

I have to say that I am becoming increasingly perplexed with Rosler’s team selections. I fail to see how playing McManaman at left-sided wing-back/midfield or whatever that position was and Cowie wide right makes any sense at all.

And what’s happened to Perch? Is he another player that’s fallen foul of Rosler?

The guy I sit next to told me at the Millwall game that he’d heard there had been some altercation between Perch and the manager and he reminded of the same on Saturday. I personally DFKDFC and take it with a pinch of salt as we all hear this sort of stuff like this being bandied about.

I just think Tavernier is in favour because he’s half decent, puts in a shift and seems to take a lot of dead balls (corners, crossed free kicks).

It’s time we utilised what we’ve got. If we played McManaman and McLean on the wings, Riera and Waghorn up front, and Maloney behind the front two, we’d waltz into the playoffs.

I hope you’ve anticipated a back 3, otherwise you’ll be running out of players with your 5-up-top.

That rumour was doing the rounds on Saturday. He hasn’t feature at all since the Brentford home game when he was on the bench and I’ve not heard anything about him being injured. Is he?
