Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Newcastle and Sunderland go down and Middlesboro go up! :)

12 April 2016 at 5:31 pm #148069Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Newcastle and Sunderland go down and Middlesboro go up! :)That would be nice, Boro, the highest ranked NE club.
12 April 2016 at 5:35 pm #148070Not me. Would like Boro to stay down and Darlo to rise from the ashes.
12 April 2016 at 6:46 pm #148074Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Newcastle and Sunderland go down and Middlesboro go up! :)Having Villa, Newcastle & Sunderland on your fixture list would boost your average attendance to five figures.
12 April 2016 at 6:48 pm #148075Newcastle will but the other two are much smaller clubs than Newcastle and will only travel if they are winning.
12 April 2016 at 6:51 pm #148076Any attendance at Latics over five figures is a great attendance with the size, situation and certain demographics of the town Nutty
13 April 2016 at 12:27 am #148077Newcastle will but the other two are much smaller clubs than Newcastle and will only travel if they are winning. In an away season of 2 wins, 4 draws and 10 defeats Sunderland have sold out full allocations on all bar one game this season.
I take it that if we go down and if we win a few games, the couple of thousand or so who frequent the Boston stand will shift across to make room for the visiting fans, rather like the last time we last visited in the 2nd division.

But that’s never been done.
When the JJB first opened the East Stand was the away stand, but that changed and away fans were moved to teh North Stand. It has NEVER been the case that the stand has been “shared” – there is no facility to separate the concourse.
13 April 2016 at 2:11 am #148080We tried to do it for the Reading game when we were promoted to the PL, for reasons mentioned above, it wasn’t possible to house Readings fans and Wiganers in same stand.
As for the original question, as it stands Ritchie De Laet is in line to win a Premier League and Championship winners medal in the same season…unusual double, wonder if its ever been done in English football history.

Who said anything about sharing? I was suggesting that the home fans could move across to the West Stand. Surely you haven’t forgotten what it was like when a winning Sunderland team last came to town:
13 April 2016 at 3:38 am #148083Yes we remember the thick fooks.
Never ever saw that many when they were struggling in the Prem.
Couldn’t fill the North Stand the thick fooks. Living in Newcastle shadow and allways have done and allways will the thick fook Makems.13 April 2016 at 8:02 am #148084I think people are picking on the fact that you appear to be suggesting that our fans were moved to accommodate the Mackems.
13 April 2016 at 11:46 am #148086Mutty – it was your use of the words “shift across”, rather than “change stands” that confused me. Across implies a sideways motion, or a shuffling up.
But, still, “shift across to make room for the visiting fans, rather like the last time we last visited”. Nobody moved last time. That was the away stand. It was changed the following season.13 April 2016 at 11:48 am #148087And that was 2005. The last time you won at the JJB/DW was 2013. But we have also won in the interim in the Premier League, so it’s a bit selective just to choose the Championship game. :)
