I think it’s time a word was at at least.
I’ve had to look at the home page a few times to make sure it was the right website.
I had actually typed a big piece having a right go at people, but due to a system crash, I’ve lost it. But I will use the final line from it, which originates from one of our former managers, from years ago.

Spoilt bast*rds. These last 10 years have been a bloody breeze as a fan. Constant progression, as we climbed up the league, and proceeded to mock peoples mis-conceptions whippets and cloth caps, as we proved them wrong and ‘Little Wiggun’ in the Premier League. It’s been bloody fantastic. Easy street for supporters. If you remember the old days, and are still moaning, I suggest you have a rummage through your old programmes etc, and see just how much we have progressed. I was feeling p*ssed off a year or two ago, and I did just that. I’ll tell you now, I soon felt good again.
So frig off with the “He has to go” comments. We actually have a manager who CARES for the club, and who has a DESIRE to take us on to the next step, rather than for him to use Latics as a stepping stone. We are bloody lucky.
I’ve never been as disgusted in our support, as I am at this time. In all honesty, if you are moaning and coming out with all this shyte, and you really aren’t happy……….

I’ve thought for some time, and said it on here, that a percentage of our support are absolute w*nkers, and tonight I have been proved right.
When it boils down to it, we have an hardcore of decent fans, and a load of gobshytes who are now jumping ship, even playing the ‘I’m a rugby mon at heart’ tune. (Can tell they’ve got renewed optimism, under this Micky McGuire fella) :lol:

The sad thing is even the match going supporters are miserable bastards. I had an old couple sat behind me & they bitched about Gomez, Scotland, Bramble, Koumas & Martinez. Sadly that was in the first 15mins. There was also a few more in earshot.
The funny thing was the silly old get kept hurling abuse at Bramble but it was actually Sinclair he was looking at. Slight fucking difference gramps.
The other classic was “Bloody hell Gomez what you doing, as he passed to another Wigan player”

Always been the same. I had the pleasure of witnessing Ged Brannan on his Latics debut, whilst sat with some of his relatives. (His cousin is my best mate) and literally after 3 minutes, he was being criticized and moaned at. I felt embarrassed.
I also recall people shouting “Campbell’s meatballs!” at Bobby Campbell, a striker who was great for us! And even today, I read people mocking Marcelo Moreno’s teeth……honest to god, Wiganers are a class apart.
We’d sign Ronaldinho and some old cun* would shout “Fancy dan” at him.
Never be happy, always look on the miserable side. That’s the mentality, I think. Sorry, but it is with a lot of people.

Sorry Vat dont have too many fond memories of BrannanRegardless, in our promotion season, he started the season at right-back, his natural position, rather than midfield, and he looked really good. Then he got hurt and Nicky Eaden got his place.
Point is, people are too quick to judge. I’ve never known fans like Wiganers. No matter who the player is, Wiganers will always find fault.
Ever since I’ve watched Latics, I can remember loads of players getting slaughtered. Martinez got slaughtered as much has he got praised.

Launching somebody???? Ha ha – as if. All you can launch are tall tales about being in the Falklands, being Elvisboy and living in Prague.
I think the teams performances are bobbins. I state it. I think Martinez is bobbins, i state that too. I dont post on here to get people to say “well said” etc as i am not starved of conversation in the real world (i.e. not on this site).
How long until you claim to hate wigan athletic again and want to support everton etc, and all other drivvle associated with it.

I agree with vat here. It seems people ( many of whom didn’t go to the game ) couldn’t wait to come on here and post sneery “told you so” type stuff. What good does it do & what purpose does it serve? Just before Notts scored we were all over them and should have put the game to bed and young Schmeichel kept them in it. Not that arsed about the cup, if Bobby keeps up in this league this year it will rate as a great achievement. Trouble is a lot of our support has either only started watching or have rediscovered their local team during the last few years of success and climbing through the divisions & unfortunately it wasn’t going to last forever. Now the going is a bit tougher they are walking in their droves, turning on the club they claim to support and spouting off on here and other sites all the time rather than looking for positives. There might not have been much stomach for a fight on the pitch last night but there isn’t any amongst many of our fans either.

Now it was a private message so I aint gonna divulge exactly what you said in it but for the benefit of others you criticised Whelan for appointing Bobby in the first place, Bobby for the poor football he is producing, Bobby for his post match comments, Bobby for dishing up the same excuses for defeats week after week, half hoping we got battered by Everton so you could come on here & “hammer” Whelan & Bobby, said Bobby was deluded, and so on & so forth
yet now you start this thread having a go at people for doing the very same thing you yourself did only last week & was threatening to do this week

Yes Tyldesley, I criticized Roberto to you, privately. That being the point. I did it in PRIVATE, rather than spout off to all and sundry on here and actually revelling in it, feeling proud when other people pat me on the back in agreement. I despair of the mentality. Ok, I still think the appointment of Martinez was all about sentiment, rather than sense. Do you think Whelan would have offered him the job, if it were not for the history? Not a chance.
I also do think that Roberto doesn’t help himself with his post match interviews. I think he’s too honest, and says too much. As for our style of play, I only think that Roberto is doing the same as other managers, by playing 4-5-1. And I only think he’s deluded in the fact that some of the players keep getting another ‘crack’ yet keep on letting him down. (I.E. Koumas) I think that he has the right idea about the football he wants us to play, but he’s having to cut out the rubbish from our squad. I mean, what exactly is the point of Bouazan? He has never played a game since he arrived. Surely some mutual termination could be agreed?
But I don’t think there is a manager about who is not worthy of criticism. I know Ferguson get’s slated by some, and I bet Ancelloti had some stick last night, after Chelsea drew with Hull.
Yes, my main criticism was of Whelan, and how he does certain things. I am most definitely not the only one, am I? I wasn’t actually hoping we got ‘battered by Everton’, what I meant was, it would have been typical of us to put in the best performance of the season, and then for them to use that as an excuse not to buy anybody in the window. As it happens, I thought we played very well, but just lacked that finishing touch. I also think that we’ve done very well to sign Moses, and perhaps Moreno will be a revelation.
The reason for my postings last night, was that I actually came on here last night and COULD NOT BELIEVE some of the comments. Some were actually revealling that they are really rugby fans and proclaiming “It’s a rugby town”. Thankfully, I think they have been banned. There were people registering last night just to have a pop at Latics,l and like I say, ‘revel’ in it.My point is that it is doing nobody any good at all, all this “he must go”, type of talk. Yes, that was shocking last night. And yes, I’m not defending any of the players any more. But I don’t know who people think we can magically bring in instead of Roberto, who will change things. We’ve played that card with Bruce, the quick fix ‘come and save us’ one, and it knocked us back a year, as he brought in some absolutely shyte players, a squad full of deadwood.

You see, you are wrong. I didn’t go out and share it with everybody. My criticism, and the people I HAVE a problem with, are not Whelan, Martinez, or the players. But our so-called ‘Fans’. The vitriol that has been spouted after last night has totally shocked me. I knew people wouldn’t be happy, but the showing of true colours as soon as we look like having a bit of a bad run has, frankly, amazed me. We all knew that a good few ‘egg-chasers’ had jumped on our bandwagon, the chance to see ‘Stevie G’ and ‘Man Yoo’ was just too tempting. But as soon as things go a bit wrong, they jump ship. All us proper fans know the real score. We know hand on heart that we have a ‘hardcore’ of only a few thousand. I was only looking this morning, but since November, the HOME support has declined by about 5,000 fans. I also find it rather convenient that the revelations on the board last night come when the Rugby season has just started again. There is no doubt that they feel more confident this season, and I am thinking that some of the floating ‘fans’ have chosen their side. Well I just hope they don’t come back.
So before you go having a go at me personally, will you actually think to youself, as to what good can come out of constantly bemoaning Martinez, and calling for his head? Change the bloody record. I’m not saying I haven’t moaned myself, I have, but frankly, I’ve seen the wood for the trees, and know that Roberto is having to sort out the mess, before he can do his own thing. If you don’t like it…….don’t go.Personally, I think JAYT should ‘suspend’ the messageboard for a bit, because it’s doing nobody any good at all.
