Used to read this board under my old name of oreetpal many many years ago. not had much chance last few years with work commitments. were did all the old posters go ? used to be a reet laugh on here. 1999-2001 was fantastic. doesn`t sem to be any of the original lot on now. griff is one of the older lot but i dont think he was around at the beginning

Filmoss, you forgot the Cup runs, they’ve been fabulous.I am not surprised by those nor bothered because if the club doesn’t give a fuck about cups then why should I ! The next time we get drawn at home in a cup competition no fucker should turn up now that would be funny !!

Well at least Uncle Dave will be pleased to know that there are some out there enjoying the entertainment that he puts on ! ;)
Indeed Uncle Dave in his barbados Villa will be tuned in to this and other websites on the latics spectrum
In a way I’m glad that the vile comments of a few mindless individuals who fequent this site and others are kept on here and have not progressed to the ground in the same way that as happened at Blackburn
You have also got to remember that in the rise through the leagues when you are on about having the good banter, it was with a lot of rival fans as well. Being part of Rivals back then, meant that it was easy for rival fans to drift between boards.
Now it is all Latics fans who post after we went back to being independent three years ago…..FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

In the days that Dick refers to, we used to have a proper old laugh on here about much more than just Latics. That’s before the baord became infested with people who have only been around 5 minutes and have no perspective about what’s important in life.

Great laugh !! :(I wasn`t talking about the football. i was on about the board and its posters. there was very little football spoke about in those days. it was a load of posters having a laugh and a joke. football was mentioned on fridays if anyone could be bothered. i`m talking way before rivals and all the adverts and other crap they brought. rivals was one of the worst things to happen to this board imo. ok it got the hits but it lost the quality
As for it being independent now how can it be with all the adverts and revenue ? independent as in you arent part of a network but thats it

If anyone dares to talk about anything other than football on here they get shot down with lines like ” I thought this was a footy forum ” !! and ” This isn’t Face Book you know ” ! Griff,I have 3 daughters,1 son, 3 grand kids and a dog ! I have my own business and a house to run so I think its safe to say that I have perspective ! I vent my spleen on here but like you say many of my remarks are glib and tongue in cheek. Any posts I make that are serious re team tactics etc usually get shot down in flames and so I stick to the terse stuff ! As for my Johnny come lately status, when I started going on in the Championship the gates were circa 9000 and so we appear to have had many band wagon merchants since. Is this a bad thing in your opinion ? I don’t rate Martinez and so therefore will state that fact just as the pro Martinez will continue to support him, that’s how these forums work ! Mr 30 something,to say this behaviour is akin to the treatment Kean has received at Blackburn is tantamount to pure stupidity by the way ! I don’t take offence by the way Griff and I don’t bear grudges and any comments made on here do not in any way effect our acquaintanceship but I will always attempt to defend my corner. Back to the board itself, well if you browse the other sites currently available you will find that this forum is very much alive in comparison !
