Ah, but the point is people have posted opinions i.e against Martinez on here and then have been shouted down and dismissed by the same old people and in turn this puts them off posting again.Its the way in which certain people disagree, in that any negative will not be tolerated here. If thats the case then whats the point in having a message board if people can’t vent and then discuss without being labelled a darksider?
I’m a realistic fella but if i feel we are being let down as fans on occasions why can i not state this without a barrage of abuse in return.
That said i have been quite impressed with the team lately and hope Sunderland was just a blip and we can get back to winning ways soon.
I understand where you’re coming from, but I think dissenting voices and differing (even negative) opinions were a welcome part of this board until they became a) repetitive b) insulting towards people most of us consider heroes (I.e. Martinez and Whelan) and c) just downright dull.
At one point every time we lost this board was flooded with one or two posters starting thread after thread after thread with ‘the Spanish one is useless’ , ‘Dave Whelan is bleeding us dry’ and worse.
I’d take part in any reasoned debate about formations, tactics, player’s performances, etc. and would welcome all viewpoints.
In another post I (tongue in cheek) told Hindley Blue I’d only ever called him a miserable bastard, but it’s actually true. I can see our poor performances. I can see sometimes the tactics aren’t right. I can see some players aren’t good enough. I get pissed off with it all and I’d love to debate it on here, but unfortunately, and this is at the heart of it, very few actually want, or are able to have a rational, objective debate without name calling, hurling insults, etc.
So boys and girls, bring your opinions, but be prepared to listen to others too. Have a sense of humour, but be willing to take it as well as give it. And finally, be tolerant of each other. It’s only a game after all!

I don’t know how old you are but it seems to me that you went to a school that has banned all forms of competition – like sports day for instance – for fear of it damaging those sensitive souls who can’t handle failure.
Unfortunately the big bad world ain’t like that and you have to learn to fight your corner.The people who post on here are, by and large, stubbornly opinionated. They believe they are right and everyone else who doesn’t agree with their view is wrong. Therefore it should come as no surprise to find your opinions being ridiculed, with levels of abuse thrown in, if you are not capable of arguing your point.
This board is administered and moderated and if anything gets out of hand, posts get deleted and people get banned.
So don’t be a big girl’s blouse – unless you are a big girl with a blouse – grow some balls and stop being a wimp.
The thing is i’m open to what some people say whereas the stubbornly opinionated people you talk about are not and never will be. They are just narrow minded in my opinion.
As for being a big girls blouse, seems quite sexist to me. I’ve known some quite handy big girls in my time.

I have to agree, the clique have ruined it. You cant post anything at all without that self righteous 2 hat responding and pointing out that he and his mates are the only ones with any opinion that has any validity. Ruined by the clique.
Can anyone tell me what has happened to Cockney Latic message board, nobody posts on it any more, I have read it for years and had many a laugh at the outrageous arguments and banter that was always on here – where have all the main contributors gone are they posting on other sites now.I used to log on take a look at the previous day/nights entertainment during my lunch hour and colleagues used to ask what I was pissing myself laughing at, I’m lucky if I bother once a month now.

This week there have been 11,475 visits from 4,798 different users look at the site, flicking through nearly 110,000 pages (the majority of which are on the message boards).
Not too sure that is a web site at death’s door and that is with very few new articles going on of late due to me being very busy setting a new business up (any offers for articles at the moment greatly appreciated).
Generally in the past, the only users that would post this sort of thread, are ones from other boards that were trying to poach. As I don’t think your doing this I wonder where the point is?
The users of this board are individuals that have their point of view, granted they are stubborn buggers, but at the end of the day there is no ‘clique’ as you put it. You cant class a group that agrees on something as being a clique can you?
That mad fact about this board is the amount of people that do just ‘read’ it and don’t post their two penneth worth. The reality is that there is just as many people posting now as there was in the first and Championship divisions, but there are 4 times more people looking at the site.
