As for James C, I have been watching Wigan Athletic for 33 years. I remember players like Noel Ward, Peter Houghton, Joe Hinnigan and Colin Methven to name a few. I have been to Brighton, Bournmouth, Torquay, Barnet and Aldershot amongst other remote parts of the UK. I wont even get started on pre season trips to Holland.
Please please tell me why you posted that? I dont care how long you have watched Wigan or which players you remember. I just cant think for the life of me, why you have posted that to me, It was completely irrelevant You great big superfan you ;)

Curbishley – I wonder why you were screaming ES3 to the rafters when the people with the banner were actually sitting on ES4. Seems like a wind up to me.
There seemed to be a group of five or six all having a good laugh about it. It looked like someone had scrawled in marker pen on a pillow case. Very amateurish. The anti Gillete and Hicks one in the away end was very professional by comparison. Grown men acting like that – very sad.
Funny how they didn’t wave it at the end. Surely those 90 minutes couldn’t have changed their minds about Martinez? Why did they not have the courage of their convictions and wave it throughout, including as the final whistle went? They’d get more respect if that’s what they truly believed. Nowt to do with unfortunate timing.
Why not write to the club telling him where he’s going wrong? Why not write an article on here or MHM fanzine giving the benefit of your wisdom? Why not vote with your feet? If you don’t like it then don’t come. Simple really. Banner waving for the benefit of Sky/ESPN (not that they’d be interested in us for a minute anyway) isn’t the right way go and is only detrimental to the continued development of OUR club.

With all due respect the Premier League records are littered with teams who have beaten “top 4” sides and still got relegated. For every Liverpool, Chelsea & Villa victory there’s been a Hull, Wolves or Pompey loss
The argument that “no other manager’s ever got us a victory against a top 4 side” so he’s great falls a bit flat at that particular hurdle for me.“we were getting beat left, right and centre by other teams including a heavy loss at Stoke”
Results weren’t great 2nd half of the season admittedly but Bruce had to cope with the sale of Palacios & heskey, Valencia’s mid being at Old Trafford & a demoralised/job done set of players & his own feelings at seeing his hopes of having his team qualify for Europe dismantled in days by a chairman who told him to shift his aims down to “avoiding relegation”
Oh & we lost 2-0 at Stoke. Hardly a heavy loss when the manager you defend has guided us to “heavy defeats” by Pompey, Spurs, United (twice), Arsenal, Blackpool, Notts County (if Stoke last season was a heavy defeat then so was this) & has his team with a minus 26 goal differenceI hope Monday night was a turning point but we’ve been here before when great victories have been followed by complete $h!te & it’ll take some form of sustained improvement in form for me to start hailing Bobby as the new mesiah

The beating of those teams shows our potential, ok we’ve had some bad results but our team is building. Give the guy a chance you bellend the premiership doesnt mean everything too some people. Seems to me ur just a deluded one who’s looking for a raise out of people
