Afraid Sharpes talk about smashing the league is looking rather foolish…………
Yet completely writing us off after one game isn’t ?
Yes we played (mostly) today, but a little perspective might be in order.[/quote]
Yes.. today’s result was better for us than 2 years ago winning 4-0 at Barnsley.
Better because it’s given us (yet another) a kick up the arse that we need 2 up front; we need to score goals.
We need 4 points min on the board after Scunny…or I fear another long, frustrating season :S
9 August 2015 at 5:24 am #143817Thing is if Grant Holt was fit he would be sold, given a strke partner and would be banging in 15 to 25 goals in for his new club just like he as done throughout his career. Well that was before he landed here but yes if he was fit and had a strike partner and we played real football he would do it for us but him and Huws fit will be sold.
9 August 2015 at 1:22 pm #143818In other news Andy Delort, back in the French top division with Caen, scores an absolute screamer as they win 1-0 in Marseille
9 August 2015 at 1:29 pm #143819So that’s 3 goals in his last 26 games.
9 August 2015 at 1:45 pm #143820What we’d have given for one of them yesterday, good player that Delort and against one of the top sides too
9 August 2015 at 2:44 pm #143825Very disappointed with performance and result but hopefully a wakey wakey call.4-5-1 or whatever the system was didn’t work. Wondered when we signed Grigg why Mk Dons didn’t bust a gut to sign him ? but they hit 4 yesterday so that probably answers that question.Lack of pace going forward my biggest concern . Didn’t see anything in the pre season games to convince me we were going to”smash this league “. Caldwell admires Robbie’s footballing philosophy but I pray he doesn’t continue with this possession and play the ball out from the back as this is not the premier league with premier league standard players. 1ST home games will give us a better indication of whats ahead.
9 August 2015 at 3:12 pm #143826What we’d have given for one of them yesterday, good player that Delort and against one of the top sides tooOh Aye. Superb. Set the world on fire for us and would have run riot in League One. See Leon Clarke scored for Bury and Bingham for Hartlepool. Oh what we would have given for another couple yesterday. Come to think of it wheres Zaki these days? Where’s Scotland? Rieras probably banged in 3 against Barca. Regrets regrets regrets!
9 August 2015 at 3:35 pm #143827See Leon Clarke scored for Bury
aye a reet screamer int top left hand corner
9 August 2015 at 3:35 pm #143829Kone scored for Everton.
Hugo is in Turkey. Mcarthur’s new team won. Boyceeeee’s new team drew. Jordi wasn’t even on the bench.
And yes, I know – someone will say ‘and what point are you making’ ….. TBH ‘Ihaventaclue’!!
9 August 2015 at 4:14 pm #143830We weren’t shite. That’s a kneejerk reaction from a lot of our “supporters”. I was as annoyed as many, but have had time to reflect, and have taken that time to do so.
We certainly weren’t very good, and played like what we are (is that grammatical?) – a team of eleven players who haven’t played together competively before.
We tried to play tiki-taka and build from the back but got it wrong because (a) we have League One players not Barcelona superstars, and (b) the players don’t know each other so don’t know where others are going to be or where they are going to pass the ball.
Maybe we should have set out to be more direct until we can start playing fancy stuff. A couple of times we got caught in defence when we should just have played League One “hoof it”.
People who are saying we are shite also are not giving Coventry credit. They read our game well, closed us down very quickly, and broke quickly themselves while finding space.Come on George, we all know your an avid football fan but it’s time you stopped defending the club on everything. Yesterday they WERE shite, it was like watching a Martinez team, Sharpe has come in, got rid of everybody on a half decent wage and got players on the cheap (with the exception of Grigg) doees this pattern of circumstances not remind you of anything? Whelan, Martinez, this love in and accepting everything that is thrown at you. YOU are the consumer, you pay the prices and you should demand more instead of having your hard earned cash yanked out of your pocket.
Funny isn’t it, these similarities keep cropping up. Mr. Sharpe takes over Wigan Athleitc just before they get relegated. He takes the last 10m of parachute payments, he sells every player in the squad, he brings in cheap alternatives…… Need i go on.
And people say i am deluded for thinking Whelan and co are only in it for the money. I am yet to be proved wrong. Latics to be playing at Leigh Sports Village within 5 years. I am pretty good with predictions. Regarding Latics, Every single one of them has been correct so far. Feel free to troll through my old posts.

I don’t know about having money yanked out of your pocket I was under the impression that it is up to the individual if he wants to buy a season ticket or match day ticket come to that and I also reckon the cost cutting was needed

We do have one more parachute payment has it is over four years then adding up and taking away wasn’t one of your best skills
And people say i am deluded
well yes and course they have a point with your consistent financial analysis

Thats because i’m right though. People fear truth sometimes and when it comes to Latics it is so clear to see. If the chairman murdered somebody in the street there would still be a little posse on here defending him. Get your head out of the clouds.
9 August 2015 at 4:36 pm #143833Aye your reet only in Yosser world
9 August 2015 at 4:43 pm #143834Aye your reet only in Yosser worldWell thought out response. Hard to reply isn’t it when people speak the truth?
9 August 2015 at 4:55 pm #143835If your confident I’ll wager 5k we aren’t playing in Leigh within 5 years.
