12 January 2020 at 2:44 pm #183923Broken record again and again.
A dreadful inept performance against a mediocre mid table side and stuff the stats we had no punch in the vital areas.
I have said it many times now this bunch is arguably the worst we have had for many a year and I don’t think it is salvageable now whatever happens.
I saw more heart , effort and belief from our youth lads in one minute last Wednesday than I saw from that bunch in the entire game yesterday ( Naismith aside ).
They have tried everything and it still doesn’t work and sadly I’m now resigned to league 1 , we just haven’t got enough of what is required to survive.
A depressing place to be at this stage of the season .Belief comes from confidence and winning games. The 18s are top of the table and have won 13 straight. they probably feel invincible.
We have no cutting edge. Cook knows that and says as much in his comments. He has signed players but it hasn’t quite worked how he wanted. I’ve no doubt we are in for a striker but as the club we are with the budgets we have we will either have to sign someone from league one or scotland and hope they step up (windass, moore, lowe, etc) or a kid from some PL or bigger clubs academy. We can’t go and sign a Charlie Austin or a Dwight Gayle or a Patrick Bamford. If we get Rhodes it’s a few years too late.
12 January 2020 at 3:28 pm #183925If we get Rhodes it’s a few years too late.Might be, but I think he would be decent between now & the rest of the season. He could do a job for us these next few months.

Playing the way we are, I think he would as well. Leave him as far forward as possible with Windass, Dowell and AN Other behind him.
12 January 2020 at 6:10 pm #183928Question for Stu……do you feel so silly now….blindly following a manager who the ones of us with a bit more foresight could see was the start of serious decline. Struggled last season,8 mill kitty down crapper and we are 2nd worst, lowest scoring pile of dung in this league. He’s proven what I thought for a year. …hes out of his depth and hanging around for his dosh. Moore situation is just another Cook balls up……read my lips”No more money for Cook”……
12 January 2020 at 6:21 pm #183929Told you several times I think he should go. I agree with him that our performances at times should have seen us with more points than we have but we’re our own worst enemy.
2nd worst now so we’re improving ;)
What Moore situation is that? The lad being injured?
Gonna answer my question or just call me a dick again?
12 January 2020 at 9:34 pm #183940Moore was fit yesterday !!!….All those who waffled on about playing better without him well 5 games ,5 points and 4 goals…..that proved that theory then. 1st half pass to death is as boring, toothless I’ve seen us play for years. As I’ve stated it would be an imbosile who would give him a cent to spend. …..then again..
12 January 2020 at 9:47 pm #183942You the club doctor brownbill?
12 January 2020 at 10:53 pm #183943Good authority…….Don’t want to risk injury …..flog him 3 up 4 mill so he can squander some more funds.!!
12 January 2020 at 10:57 pm #183944Good authority:lol:

This report on the BBC website appears to back Mr Brownbill up. It also said the same on the ‘Wigan Today” website but I can’t be arsed searching for that as well.
12 January 2020 at 11:55 pm #183948Mmmmmm!…. Cooks driving him to Cardiff…..3 1/2 Mill and hes gone, just have to meet our valuation. Then its 1 striker left…or 2 we blow it all on Rhodes, and he won’t score either under the clown. Not a hope of getting anything back of Lowe, Cooks main summer target. So I hope for his sake he rebuilds his club career under a manager who can get the best out of him, bank the cash but please don’t let Cook near it.
12 January 2020 at 11:58 pm #183949As I told you Stu my club source confirmed Friday he was fit…..so make of it what you will. He’s probably had enough of being isolated and jumping 90mins for 75yd nine iron balls. I hope he stays but looking ominous.
13 January 2020 at 12:44 am #183953Theres about 6 people who would know if Moore is fit to play or not and seemingly these 6 people know (and regularly inform) about 3000 fans. Ok.
You do know there is a massive difference in returning to training and being fit?
Moore will probably be sold for whatever reason. It may be similar to that of Geoff Horsfield or it may be similar to that of Will Grigg. If he goes then we need to replace him one way or another that’s for sure.
13 January 2020 at 12:54 am #183954Cook did say he was back in training but like stu says, that and being fit to play are two different things. Personally I think we’ll be swapping him for Rhodes, who has scored a panful more at this level than Moore has if you want to find a positive, and will probably mean we don’t play hoof ball anymore for those that aren’t a fan.
13 January 2020 at 1:26 am #183957The games kind of moved on since the likes of Moore and for Cook not to realise that is poor. Clubs don’t have a 6ft 5inch forward who can’t run or finish to lump it up to these days. If we can sell him on for what we have paid given his record in front of goal I would snatch their hand off. He’s had plenty chances for us and has fluffed his lines
