Well I’ll be supporting The Warriors next Saturday.
As a Wiganer I’ll always support them despite what may or may not have happened the past.
Some people need to move on I feel. B)
28 September 2013 at 11:40 pm #121606worldwide being the few countries that play rugby league.
To be honest I think if you go to Perth or Darwin they’ll look at you blankly.
New Zealand is a hotbed of Rugby Union and the All Blacks.
If you mention “jeu a treize” outside of Perpignan you may get Gallic shrugs.
And even in England mention the word “rugby” in Leicester, Bristol, Northampton, Sale, Gloucester, Newcastle etc etc and see what people think you’re talking about.
29 September 2013 at 12:45 am #121607That may be because of their moderation policy.Or it may be that they really dont care…
Are you suggesting that we should do the same?Because I’m very happy to.
Yes. Why dont you get rid of every anti-rugby thread? The added bonus is that you’d get rid of me, as I only come on here to reply to them!

!
What twaddle!
The word ‘Latics’ features in a prominent Wigan RL song, and numerous anti-Latics banners have been seen, photographed and discussed on other forums.
In fact, when the team left for the FA Cup Final and there was a big send off, there comment section on Wigan Today (or whatever website it was) was swamped with Wigan RL supporters claiming they were going to turn up and ruin.
Hardly the behaviour of people who don’t really care!
29 September 2013 at 3:38 am #121617Would Wurriors wouldn’t take 2,500+ for a midweek night match in Belgium…no chance!

29 September 2013 at 11:39 am #121624Would Wurriors wouldn’t take 2,500+ for a midweek night match in Belgium…no chance!Nor would they only take 134 for a midweek night match in London.
Belgium was a one-off novelty. Lets see if you can pack out the visitors end at Charlton in 4 weeks. At £6 a ticket, you cant blame the prohibitive cost.
29 September 2013 at 12:46 pm #121625I wonder what would have happened had the chubbies lost
great game only to be spoiled by wigan fans bricking leeds coaches, and smashing windows
Keep ya fans under control mutty
29 September 2013 at 1:57 pm #121627I just don’t get it.
The team is struggling to perform with any consistency, and are unable to string 2 victories together.
Yet the biggest conversation on here is about another sport.
Why do we care, lets just get on with supporting our team, and let others worry about Rugby League

Were those the coaches that were bricked away from the ground, whilst the Wigan supporters were still in the ground saying farewell to Tomkins, Richards & Mossop?
My money is on them being the Latics Brigantes – throwing bricks because they’d run out of stocks of flares.
29 September 2013 at 2:50 pm #121631Well that was a shit reply :(
29 September 2013 at 4:22 pm #121634What Myth?.
Wigan RLFC, Every one of the townsfolk who follow the stupid sport supports the Worriers.
Wigan Ath FC.Surrounded and playing in the backyard of 4 of the biggest clubs in Britain who the good people of Wigan traditionally support. Yet despite this on entering the football league in 1978 the average crowds for this year were in the region of
Wigan Athletic 9000
Wigan RLFC 3500
A few more stats
Non league attendance record 27000 Wigan Athletic v Hereford United FA Cup
19000 Wigan Athletic fans at Goodison park v Everton also in a cup game
An estimated crowd of over 30,000 at Springfield Park v Newcastle see Latics lose this replay 3 2 to the Geordies in the 1953 Cup tie.
Not bad figures saying this is a Rugby town
Yeah right course it is.
29 September 2013 at 8:30 pm #121648Strange how the article never mentions that last Sunday saw the lowest league attendance at the DW for over 7 years, despite it not being on TV, and being one of the warmest September afternoons for ages.Speaking of attendances down 9,35% Mutts
Not much on the box tonight so thought I’d just have a little number crunching session. Last season Wigan had a total home attendance of 208k giving an average of 16,043, which was 1% down on the previous season. 2013 figures are total home gates 189084 giving an average of 14,545, down roughly 9.35%
Wondered why we had not had urgings from the club to break attendance records29 September 2013 at 11:07 pm #121655Speaking of attendances down 9,35% MuttsNot much on the box tonight so thought I’d just have a little number crunching session. 29 September 2013 at 11:25 pm #121657Mutty, Mutty, Mutty, old chap
You really aren’t understanding the principles of fan message boards, in particular this one. So I will explain.
(1) Latics fans posting positive messages about Latics.
Rare on here I know, but fine.(2) Non-Latics fans posting positive messages about Latics.
Fine, and actually welcome.(3) Latics fans posting negative messages about Latics.
Disappointing, but acceptable. This is after all a Latics’ fans board. We do not operate the same policy as for example Red & White Kop, which deletes and bans anyone not toeing the “party line”.(4) Non-Latics fans posting negative messages about Latics.
Not acceptable, in the same way that C&W moderate such things out (and there is sufficient evidence from people here that have tried to do it that it happens frequently). Why should we have to listen to outsiders’ views? See point (3).(5) Latics fans posting any comments about non-Latics issues (eg rugby league, rugby union, cricket, basketball, baseball or synchronised swimming) . Allowed as long as it’s in the right sub-forum. But don’t expect a flood of replies.
(6) Non-Latics fans posting as in the point above. Likely to get deleted as being not at all relevant to this board.
You are in danger of consistently breaching points (4) and (6).
