13 January 2016 at 9:54 pm #146678All their goals came down our right side.
For the first we had Wildschut on the right wing who doesn’t track back plus Daniels who had a mare and Barnett as the right-sided CB.
For the second Jacobs, equally inept at tracking back, had swapped with Wildschut so the problem hadn’t been addressed.
James comes on for Barnett so they shift the back four across to accommodate him because we don’t have a CB on the bench and the third goes in.Also, at 3-1 Widschutt, then on the left, sets up Grigg who for the third time squanders a clear-cut chance to put the game out of reach.
I still have to be convinced about Grigg. He needs too many chances to score, lacks close control and is too lightweight to play the lone striker role.
The deficiencies are there to see. I expect them to be sort out this month.
Please tell me that’s a tongue in cheek remark FFS!
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!13 January 2016 at 10:24 pm #146679Cowie wouldn’t get in my team let alone Wigan and for Barrow Nuff said he should stick to plumbing. And Caldwell didn’t do himself any favours blaming nearly every player. He really needs to look at himself. And like I wrote before I didn’t call perkins last night nor am I blaming our result on one player coming off.
13 January 2016 at 11:02 pm #146685At three nil down Sheffield had no alternative but to go for it. To be honest apart from some almighty cock ups in the first half they looked a decent attacking side. Their strike partnership worked well together and actually it was quite refreshing to see an attacking performance like that. Something akin to Latics on Thursday night. Again we dropped points by sloppy defending and poor finishing and one or two poor performances and their two strikers playing together rather than our one relying on the support of midfielders which at three nil worked well on this occasion. Sheffield could and should have been buried before their comeback if we had not squandered chances yet again. We all look for blame and different fans with a wide range of opinions see things so differently but sometimes we do forget to give credit were it is due and Sheffield just like Latics last Thursday deserve some credit for one amazing comeback. Yip we are all pissed off but we can get over it and anticipate three points on Saturday. However if we want automatic promotion we can not afford many more cock ups like last night.
