I can see us having about 10k home on, and The Iron bringing their full 4700. Looked on their website and there must be a big demand, as it’s all about how many away points people have. So I can see it being around 15k. I will be disappointed if its under 14k.
Its as cheap as it can be, it’s a a mouthwatering, old-fashioned cup tie with a classic and famous old club from the top flight. Older supporters will recall us playing them previously in the cup, back in 84 is… We lost 1 nil at Upton Park to a Ray Stewart (I think) Penalty. Graham Barrow did a challenge on Alan Devonshire, the darling of the Hammers supporters, that basically ruined his career. I think we played them at Upton Park in the cup in our Premiership years, too. Memory fails me.
I’ve also seen mention on their site of the game where we beat them 3-2 to relegate them. That was their last visit here. They haven’t forgot. All in all, it stands to be a great cup tie. I’m a bit surprised it’s not a televised game, but I’m glad as it’s a 3pm Saturday kick off.
I really fancy our chances here.
22 January 2018 at 9:49 pm #165346If we go with as strong a side as we did against Bournemouth, then so do I Vat.
We played them in the league cup down there but not sure about the FA.
EDIT – Having checked this very site it was 2003/2004. Would have both been Championship sides then as well.
22 January 2018 at 10:19 pm #165347Does anyone know yet whether we can pay on the day?
22 January 2018 at 10:47 pm #165349Can’t complain at 15 quid…..
Some do. Bullitt’s having a right old moan on Vital!
So you do stalk him?!!
He posts on every thread on there multiple times. Nobody can have a decent conversation on there without his bile spoiling it. There’s some league table of posts and he’s almost double anyone else.
That said, he must have some serious dirt on the moderators on there to still be able to post.
22 January 2018 at 11:05 pm #165350Does anyone know yet whether we can pay on the day?Bound to be Horc as we won’t sell many tickets. Not many people are interested in the cup these days.
Hopefully we can attract our normal league home support.
Probably be pay on the day but it could be just tickets available on the day.
Who knows? Communication could help.22 January 2018 at 11:16 pm #165351Does anyone know yet whether we can pay on the day?

I understand why they do it as they want to sell as many tickets as possible without having to rely on pay on the door fans. I just wish they would announce it earlier.
I hope they allow us to pay on the turnstile so we don’t have to queue for ages waiting for the the usual interrogation from the incompetent gits at the ticket office.23 January 2018 at 12:43 am #165359Might not do pay on day to ensure no hammers without tickets get in.
If it is then you will probably have go ticket office first.
23 January 2018 at 2:07 am #165362Does anyone know yet whether we can pay on the day?If it’s pay on the day, then we just need to turn up in good time. If it’s only pre-purchased tickets, then I could go to the ticket office on Friday morning; I’ll get thee and Donny a ticket if tha wants. Let me know.

That would be great LHL, we’ll definitely be going. Hopefully they will have announced pay on the day plans before then to save you the trek.

Being deadly serious here:If you’re definitely going, why not buy your ticket online in advance rather than having to go to the ticket office?
Again, it’s a serious question and sorry if I’m missing a salient point here.
23 January 2018 at 5:01 pm #165384I’ve just bought 6 online, with the print at home option, in WS6 and apart from the middle 2 sections in there, hardly anything has been sold. No idea why you wouldn’t buy online and print at home?
I had high hopes of a 15k crowd for this it has to be said and it begs the question if you are a season ticket holder and not going,is the £15 the stumbling block?
Can’t understand why you wouldn’t go to this game through choice, that’s all.
23 January 2018 at 5:40 pm #165385I’m surprised the ST ticket holders have to pay. But I will. Could be a nice perk of buying a ST
