We owe everything to Dave Whelan and the current owners or we’d not be here or achieved what we have in the past but I still blame DW for not fully implementing a youth system to die for.
We had everything there in place but we never did as he promised we prefered to use t on the Premiership dream and to be honest that was our downfall, short term gain. In those 7 years in the Prem we needed to heavily invest some of the 100’s of millions invest in the youth but we never did.
It should have been based on long term sustainability but is was all about short term gain. DW knew his reign was about to end and without that crop of top quality young lads we would never be able to afford to keep paying the Melchiots Heskey’s and Sibierski’s just to name a few of many.

Were back in a position were it seems we have little money and I can live with that but what is answer ?. This roller coaster were on of massive ups then down can only end one way.

The only way we rely on a youth system at Wigan is when the sh1t hits the fan and their all thrown in to try and bail us out when everyone’s left the sinking ship.

There’s plenty other clubs rely on their youth to keep them above water so why not us

Joffy gone to Sunderland, the Burton lad gone to Bolton, clueless fuckin’ manager, two loans and a freebie brought in when we have lads out on loan when they could do a job here, no info from the club.

They say actions speak louder than words if thats the case we are well and truly fucked lads! Amateurs running the show.

        Fuck the EFL

We seem reluctant to blood our youth players irrespective of whose in charge. I work with a lot of Blackburn supporters and you made a great comparison. They’ve not been scared to feed them into the 1st team set up and reaping the benefits. We have an ageing squad that achieved its purpose last season but is now woefully lacking in this league. The window is 5 days from finishing and so far we’ve not strengthened. Imo Azeez was a weak signing, Tiehi looked promising and jury out on Caulker after Saturday. Our activity concerning Gelhardt and the Burton striker seems to have stalled. None of us know what the he’ll is going on with the owners. Do they want out,are they making arrangements to remove Toure or is he just not willing to invest any more money?. I find things stagnant and quite worrying as we seem to have a supporter information black out,or are they just keeping their cards to their chest till the window shuts .Who knows, certainly I’ve not a clue.

Apparently Kalamity Kolo and his sidekicks refusing a pay off and wont leave with mutual agreement, they want the three and half year contract paid in full if the board sack them.

Its worse than last time. Players like Geldhart, Burn, Robinson were all flogged to raise cash, as was Euxton. This time you have an overpaid, over-age squad that is worth fuck all and a stadium that has had little spent on it since 2020, so is probably worth less. £3.5m last time was for the ground and the training park. This time the sale price will depend on which division you are in next season, but if you do go down, I doubt anyone’s going to be paying more than £2.5m even if any debts are cleared. If they have to take on debt, then it may be the notional £1.

Its been long established that IL isnt going to buy the stadium, even more so since your current owner has done jack shit to improve it. I’d stop worrying about the rugby if I were you and start worrying about your latest foreign owner who has realised that owning an English football club doesnt equal a quick profit, especially one where half the ST holders cant even be arsed to turn up when admission is FREE.

Long established ? I seem to remember in our hour of need during administration all IL was interested in was buying the stadium. I also remember during the ‘ secret’ Warriors fans forum he said something along the lines of when Latics go into administration next time ,Warriors will buy the stadium. Latics fans are under no illusions ,we must never let it happen.
