Duke, West Ham were in an ere of bad players then, They also signed Hugo Porfillio, Florin Radicoiu and Paulo Futre, Forgive the spelling it was a while ago. But they signed some shockers in Redknapp’s early days.

Duke im glad you agree, i like a couple of your choices, in particular Dong and Marlet. Ali Dia was a funny story, Even funnier because Souness was taken in by him. Surely he must have known in training he was dump.

Griff, come on bud, give us a player, and you Standish. There must be a few players in there.

    Here you go Yosser:

David Graham – Scored shed loads for Torquay, signed for Wigan, played in the Championship, and was woeful. I think he ended up back at Dunfermline.

Magno Viera – our first Brazilian. Aged 26, and now playing for Fleetwood.

Exactly what impact did either of these players have on the English game? And i dont see the relevance of you stating prior he played for porto and barca… Yes i know that so obviously he came with a massive reputation and then did nothing for Chelsea… Exactly my point.

And Veron the same okay he went on to play for Chelsea and Inter but i dont believe he played any massive parts in each team.

Zog, you’ve missed the point completely.

The title is ‘where are they now?’.

Had you honestly never heard of either player before or after United and Chelsea?

Both of them even played in last year’s World Cup. Where are they now? Oh, there they are, on the telly playing in front of billions of people.

Who was the Hungarian who played in a pre season friendly against Everton at the JJB. He scored in a 6-1 defeat, can’t remember if he put us a goal up early on or scored a late consolation. He looked half decent but never really saw him again.

Gabor Bukran – Had him on trail after he was released from Walsall

Here’s one, Our very own Ben Kay. Was being raved about in the local rags for a few seasons and now playing for Robin Park i believe.

    Marc Vivien Foe.

You don’t hear much about him these days. Dropped off the face of the earth, seemingly.

Glad you think it’s a good thread, Duke. Didn’t bother reading what you wrote after that, though.

In that case, I’m glad that you’re glad that I’m glad it’s a good thread. If you don’t read what I put, at least you can’t complain about it I suppose.

This is very true, I’m glad it didn’t put them off hitting the jackpot with Di Canio though, who could easily have been an erratic flop.

Going back to your previous post, I still can’t quite believe the Dia prank worked. There’s so many fundamental things that shouldn’t have worked, yet they all did which was crazy. Good to see Souness making a D1ck out of himself!

Ali Dia has a good page on wikipedia, it’s quite interesting to read. In particular when he was signed by Gateshead brought on as sub and then subbed 11 minutes later

Alessandro Zarelli was another fake, There is a video of him on youtube, He did all the paperwork to get him loan moves to Ireland and Wales and even Sheff Wed i think and he belonged to nobody but managed to convince these clubs he was i think a Juventus youth player.I saw a programme on him once and it was funny to watch.
