19 January 2014 at 5:06 am #126052rumers. but I was told he was on his way to Hull
19 January 2014 at 2:18 pm #126059Yep , bags packed off to Hull, DW needs money to service the jet.
19 January 2014 at 3:19 pm #126060not looking good
january sales about to start at the DW stadium ,clearing the deck geting shut of the high earners
typical minimum wage whelan ,this reminds me of when he brought steve bruce in for the first stint
cleared out the dead wood high earners then buggerd off
when the quality players are sold what wil we have left forget promotion lets be a midtable side
i just started to go back watching after a couple of seasons out looked good
but guess ill wait now untill a new owner takes over fooking hate whelan19 January 2014 at 3:27 pm #126062Oh no Whelans bargain basement?apply today. ;)
19 January 2014 at 3:41 pm #126063Hmmmm -by my calculations we have about 14 million in transfer surplus from last summers sales.
Or are they playing it cool so they can bat down the prices when they approach their targets-whelan is a very canny operator.19 January 2014 at 4:01 pm #126067He will be if he gets his money back on Holt and McClean.
19 January 2014 at 4:27 pm #126069OK then. Who do we go for as a permanent buy?
Someone who will do well in the Championship, help us get up, but not be good enough for the PL – and so we’re stuck with them?
Or a PL quality player who may not like the rough and tumble of lower division football, and who, if we don’t go up this season will be with us again in the Championship on PL wages?
19 January 2014 at 5:14 pm #126072McClean not good enough anyway, good riddance to 2 of the worst players here for a while,Holt n McClean.
Holt, lazy, slow brought nothing to the team.McClean, couldn’t cross the road never mind a ball,no end product either in the crosses or shots, one footed, all left foot and to predictable and easy to defend against.20 January 2014 at 3:01 am #126098not looking good

We are at a crossroads and can only hope things work out for us. Fair to say we have punched above our weight for the last 8 years or so.

20 January 2014 at 3:27 am #126102The players leaving are not quality IMO.And yet they have both attracted interest from Premier League clubs.
McClean has great skills and terrific stamina. He is willing to run and run – in both attack and defence. I’m sure a good coach could harness these talents.

And so he lost his way at Sunderland, under M O Neil, and S Bruce .. if not mistaken.
Not exactly coaches with the worst records as Managers, ….Bruce doing well again at Hull ….
Confidence AND attitude go a long way in this game ….he certainly hasn’t been firing on all cylinders for us !
20 January 2014 at 1:11 pm #126109Yep , bags packed off to Hull, DW needs money to service the jet.Let’s be honest though, your track record at predicting these things isn’t particularly good now, is it?
20 January 2014 at 2:52 pm #126111Yep , bags packed off to Hull, DW needs money to service the jet.The bags may well be packed but the big question is … has he cleared his locker? Or like Will Keane did he get Nick Powell to do it!?
Anyway if McClean does go it will be a relief to me – I have been seriously concerned that during one of his mazy runs he was in very grave danger of disappearing up his own arse – and that’s something none of us want to witness on a football pitch.
