No i dont think that, I honestly believe we have stayed up inspite of martinez not because of him.

Or are you suggesting that a manager(rodgers) that was appointed, promoted and ultimately learned his trade under, arguably one of the best modern day managers, ditched everything he learned to adopt the doctrine of a man with one and a quarter seasons of lower league management experience.

My mate who actually lives in Newport but has a Latics season ticket and one for the rugby I might add, keeps an eye on the progress of Swansea and Cardiff. He says that Swansea are continuing to play the Martinez way, he left a team in great shape and that played a great part in them reaching the prem.
It just goes to show how fortunes can change, if we had tried to sign Danny Graham, we would have all said another fekin Jason Scotland, we want a proven striker not some united cast off who has only played in 2 or 3 poor championship teams.
The lad gets in the prem and after a poor, poor start to the season [when I bet the swansea fans were screaming for him to begger off], he suddenly finds his feet and goes on a great scoring run taking swansea half way up the table. You can say well they play 442 and that’s what Bobby should do, but I don’t see twin strikers at swansea, its usually DG up front,the two wide men sinclair and dyer, with a couple of midfielder pinging forward in turn..Martinez is far better manager than I think you give him credit for. To say we stayed up the last two seasons inspite of him, then you are taking the pish.
If you throw a constant tirade at Martinez when we are up against it and fighting for survival, please have the dignity to give him credit for the last two seasons and keeping us up, despite having a shyte team, shyte tactics, third rate back-room staff and no fekin warchest. I would like to put my name forward for inclusion in your Cockney Latic XI all time best posters, this may seem a strange request but please listen to my argument.
I made my first post on this board about 9 days ago titled “This Board” to date it has had 62 replies, is this a record for an opening post, I have also looked back about 10 pages and not one thread has managed 62 replies, even ones with heated exchanges between the warring factions, this alone must count for something.
It was my intention to try and get this board communicating again, getting the sarcastic replies and insults back to how they used to be, good god we have even seen some outright threats and nastiness just like in the good old days before all this Martinez bickering divided us as never before, if I have helped in any small way I stand proud.
Hopefully you will agree with my bid for representative honours and include me in your squad to fight for a first team spot despite my novice status.
Sorry I forgot to add this,
I have had approaches from other message boards and qualify to ‘play’ for them due to the fact my paternal grandfather was a leading light on wiganer.net and my mother once served a founding member of TNS with a cup of tea, but my heart is and always has been here at Cockney Latic, hopefully you will make my dream come true.
Thanks for you carefully thought out reply Haker.It`s very god and i have taken your points on board. However i don`t want to upset anymore of the posters on here by allowing you into the starting X1. There are already a couple of posters who have had their nose put out of joint by it as you have probably seen so for that reason i am going to stick with my X1 and not upset the applecart anymore.
You can however do your own team as it`s not a closed debate. The more views on the subject the better i say.
