10 January 2010 at 2:07 am #17760Don’t and wont vote labour, For the above reasons AND because the campaigns of other party’s connect more with me.

I left Wigan in 1986, when it started to become a ghetto. Unemployment was >3 million and there were plenty of benefit scroungers and single parents knocking around. Over the next 10 years, I returned to visit my family and found myself being ashamed of my home town. It was a sh_it-hole. Vicky Pollard-style single mums chavving it round town. Dog muck littering the pavement outside Mesnes Park (and some fella who would spray paint round the turd to highlight it!!).
The downward spiral started under a TORY Govt in the early 80s. Wigan wasnt paradise on 30 April 1997. It was well on the way to being what it is today.
11 January 2010 at 3:10 pm #17839And that’s the problem, Labourites will still harp back to it being a Tory problem of the 80’s and Thatcher etc. Most Labour supporters wont admit that Modern Labour was a mistake and adopted poor Thatcherite policies.
Labour have had 13 years to get it right but still they mess things up. They have overseen an unjust war, bankrupt the country and oversaw the current expenses scandle, and local counil salary/expense scandal we have yet to uncover. They pretty much couldnt do much more than they have to ruin this country.
The alternatives to Labour aint much cop, but as Spike would say, the great unwashed will still vote em in.

yeah and a tory government would be great for wigan people would it?
wigans always been rough, no worse now that its ever been
11 January 2010 at 5:48 pm #17864haha, excellent reason to continue to justify a government which has failed the country on so many levels. Not the other lot !!! I personally wouldn’t vote Tory, by the way.
But the ignorance of so many into continuing to vote Labour is just astonishing.
What this country needs are people to challenge their MP’s to justify their representation of the people. People vote for their MP, not the party.
11 January 2010 at 8:08 pm #17892Have normally been a Tory viter, Think UKIP will get mine this year.

Bins not emptied didnt just happen in wigan,it was all over the north of england due to weather
schools closed not just in wigan, all over the country due to weather
roads not gritted not just in wigan, all over due to salt stock piles running low because the salt mines in northwich could not keep up with the demands
mps fiddling not just labour, members of every other party aswell.11 January 2010 at 11:45 pm #17912Wigan a ghetto, and Scotland isn’t? Have you been to Paisley or Dundee?
12 January 2010 at 11:27 am #17950Well said aceface, at last someone agreeing that its Labours fault for messing up the whole country, and as you know by voting them out locally they will more than likely go out across the country.
As for the expenses scandel, Labour changed parlimentary rules to allow this to happen. So they are responsible.
15 January 2010 at 8:02 pm #18393I hate the barstewards but if you’re a workshy scrounger, a criminal or illegal immigrant, or even a war mongering liar then Labour is for you.
I never thought I truly never knew the meaning of ‘hate’ but that is what I feel about them.
15 January 2010 at 9:11 pm #18409They dont care about the working classes any of them! Note i said working!
Add to this the all women shortlist and it means i wont be voting for labour! Can you imagine the outcry if it was a all male shortlist!
I watched Question Time last night expecting it to be mentioned! Not a peep however they did show themselves to not care!
They spoke about a report done by the equalities minister that said class was more important rather than race! However none of them would agree that it shouldnt matter about your colour even though Dimbelby pointed out that White poor boys did worse at school than black poor boys (his words not mine) yet none of them would agree! They have gone too pc!
Fast enough though to have a dig at the Bnp and the people that vote for them! The Iranian comidianne said she had spoke to a old lady that was voting Bnp because they had promised to fix her Wheelie Bin! They all had a good laugh at that but none of them asked Why it hadnt been repaired? Why she felt the need to vote Bnp because of this and what had been done! See they dont care anymore!
I would never vote Bnp because of its racist undertones however unlike most politicians i will give their policies the time of day seeing as they must appeal to someone as they are getting bigger!
19 January 2010 at 12:41 pm #18773I guess we can add to this the recent sanctioning of bankers bonuses, post the economic crash…… lining their friends pockets before they get booted out of government, I wonder how many members of the cabinet make it to the boards of banks in the next 10 years !
The big dissapointment is that everyone hoped they would be different, but they were never the working mans party… Shame John Smith never took them to government.
19 January 2010 at 8:50 pm #18824Just to add to that list.
1. The mere 26 billion pounds that they spent on obsolete Information technology. (alas they didnt understand it )
2. The introduction of over a 100 quango’s costing billions to the taxpayer.
3. The yuman rights act ( a nice little earner for you cherie )19 January 2010 at 11:12 pm #18841BNP all the way for me.
Click the link and check out their policies, they make a lot of sense.
Not just immigration but everything from law and order to education and defence.
