Please someone enlighten me to which games fall into this category. Preston,Millwall,Qpr,Ipswich….all struggling…all gifted 3pts…If you think Cook is doing a grand job then hold your arms open to welcome league 2.!!!..1 point out of the last 27 away from home !!!…Absolutely abysmal……Idont think the new owners will tolerate this much longer. Before people bleaton about injuries….Oh come on!!@….Jacobs,Massey, errrrr…is that it???….Frightening how poor we are!!!
16 December 2018 at 2:50 am #174064Sheff Weds, Stoke, West Brom, Blackburn, Rotherham, Hull, Bristol City. All beaten, some convincingly.
A solid home record in a tough league is just not good enough.
Powell, Robinson, Dunkley, Jacobs all out injured and several returning from injury is not an excuse.
Cook out.
16 December 2018 at 2:56 am #174066We will be ok. All we need to do is survive this time round.
Today was another shite result but before the end of the season we will do enough to stay up.
If not, fuck it let’s enjoy league one next season.16 December 2018 at 3:06 am #174067Oh please!!!..Robinson??..Hit and miss Jacobs??…Dunkley? You didn’t go to Preston then.!!! These 3 are not season defining injuries. Good of you to highlight 7 of the 22 games played…Norwich..Leeds..Preston Millwall, Ipswich, Qpr, etc etc…..Stare reality in the eye……WE ARE F&&&&&&& Pants !!!
16 December 2018 at 3:32 am #174068And yet after half the season there are 8 teams worse than us. As long as in another 24 games that is at least 3 then we’re sorted.
Where do you think we should be bill?
16 December 2018 at 11:22 am #174070The lads disappointed we aren’t in top 6 I think. Bloody rubbish Cook. The league was there for the taking!
16 December 2018 at 12:45 pm #174072Some folk need a reality check. The squad is pretty much the same one that was relegated two years ago, then pissed league one last season, which suggests that most find the step up too much. Out of the players brought in, three (Gibson, McManaman & Vaughan) were part of a Sunderland side who finished bottom of the Championship, with just two home wins all season – hardly players who would strengthen any championship side!
The first objective of any promoted club is survival. If they can do that, then is the time to push on. 16th place in your first season back is a reasonable position to be in.

“It is what it is, and we’re in a division where the criteria for every team will be different.
“If we’re expected to be anywhere else in the league other than where we are, I wouldn’t buy into that in any way, shape or form.
“If other people expect anything else, good luck to them with that.”
16 December 2018 at 1:47 pm #174081So are you happy with Cooks signings? Would you let him loose with more cash ?
16 December 2018 at 3:35 pm #174083Everyone must agree most of his signings have been a great let down but they came at a time of great change and disruption at the club. Most of us thought the likes of Garner, Windass and McManaman where pretty astute and decent signings. In hindsight not as good as expected but again none of us have any idea how tight the financial restraints were on Paul Cook.
Don’t think the present mess won’t be dealt with at board level as a relegation will not be on the agenda.
I’ll be there next season whatever. I don’t think anyone realises how much disruption there will have been in the last 15 months and the players Cook signed where basically what he could get out of the Dan Burn money and that’s it. Winnable games??? Try next Saturday.16 December 2018 at 4:48 pm #174089So are you happy with Cooks signings? Would you let him loose with more cash ?Walton – we all wanted him back but now he isn’t keeping clean sheets every week he’s rubbish.
Burn – we all said it was superb business but now he’s not at his best he isn’t good enough at this level despite being our player of the year two years ago.
Kipre – has a mistake in him, but looks a good player.
James – class player.
Robinson – brilliant going forward but can’t defend.
Gibson – arguably the man of the match on day one, bossed the midfield. Got injured, came back and with the side no longer the same has struggled to make an impact.
Naismith – never a left back. Would like to see him where he is meant to be as he is probably one of the best crossers of a ball we have.
Windass – we all thought he was a top signing. Seems lazy at times but again not playing in his best position. Does look good in the #10 role.
Garner – 3rd choice striker who is experienced at this level. Seeing as we can’t afford Messi he will have to do.
McManaman – was unsure on this one at the time. Too hit and miss and can be a liability in defence. His lack of action in the first team suggests Cook doesn’t see enough in him.
Would I give him more cash? Probably, but it depends how much we are giving him. We won’t get 3 quality players with the Nick Powell money alone for example which everyone will expect him to do.
16 December 2018 at 5:16 pm #174090Three more Walker, Cole and Vaughan.
16 December 2018 at 5:17 pm #174091Not seen Walker. I like Vaughan but think he needs a partner to profit from his hard work and I actually think we signed Cole so Shrewsbury couldn’t.
16 December 2018 at 5:34 pm #174092That is a very plausible theory re. Cole.
I think there will be quite a bit of movement in January but I just hope too many comings and goings isn’t counteractive and causes further disruption.
We shall see shortly but priority must be a speedy left back, another attacking midfielder and a decent centre back. Maybe even a big striker with pace.16 December 2018 at 6:09 pm #174097Spot on Cookie lad:“It is what it is, and we’re in a division where the criteria for every team will be different.

I would hope 1 point in 27 away from home is not the criteria of any team. If it wasn’t for exceptional home form we’d be bottom three. So what is it? Either we’re an excellent team with unexplainable away form. Or we’ve rode our luck at home. Either way it points to serious issues.
We rolled into Ipswich yesterday emphasising the importance of the game to THEM. The result puts them back in the running and drags us into a relegation battle. QPR, Preston, Millwall, Reading, Bolton, Ipswich. Capitulations every last one of them. Outfought, and sometimes outplayed, by the worst sides in the division.
