Wouldn’t it be good if they played their first choice left sided midfielder up front on his own and leave their strikers on the bench. Or played Leon Clarke upfront.

I don’t mean to be pedantic but a record that broken wouldn’t do what you are insinuating, in fact it wouldn’t actually be playable at all! Just sayin!

Yip the old record thing. But Yokey Mon it precisely idiotic tactics like that that have put us in this shit and we have every right to go on about it until some one comes along and stops these relegation making decisions of which we have had more than a lifetimes worth of this season. Just keep your shell together Yokey!

What has us in this position is a culmination of people spitting their dummies early season and us playing players up front who can’t score goals. We all know that without you pointing it out every week.

If that left sided midfielder had scored goals then it would have been hailed a piece of genius like the McCulloch move to the wing by Jewell.

Well someone else has comes along and he also seems to believe the strongest striker option we have includes Fortune and/or McClean, which doesn’t say much about the alternatives.

Maybe you should have applied for the job so you could see first hand how equally poor or worse the other options really are. Or maybe there’s a conspiracy going on to get us relegated and the manager is under instructions to deliberately play the most ineffective players just to piss you off.

Love the broken record saved in the favourites of some on here, who love to post it after certain comments………………..Then spout the same stuff they’ve always spouted themselves!

TAXI for the broken record please. We all know bad management has resulted in where we are and the reluctance to pair a striker with Fortune, if we played a forward at all.

Do you not consider McClean to be a striker then?

Coyle, Rosler, Mackay and now Caldwell have all seemingly preferred McClean and Fortune to be their first choice strike force.

Bad management has resulted in where we are now because in the case of Rosler he was allowed pay good money for strikers who were no better and in my opinion worse than what was already here and after initially starting with them was reluctant to continue. Mackay was just a disastrous appointment on every level but again he also didn’t consider anyone else to be a better option than McClean and Fortune.

But of course you watching a game once a fortnight do know better.

About three week’s away, same old dullards, same old shite.

See you in August when hopefully lots of you have nobbed off back where you came from

I would imagine most forums of sides who have also underachieved will be equally as negative as ours! Fans will always point out what they think is right or wrong, that is what forums are for is it not? Opining! As for the nobbing off back to whence they came, most of the dullards as you call them/us? have been following Wigan a hell of a long time and with no prior big club on their résumé! Oh, and if McClean is a forward/striker then I am the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix!

As much as we’ve had our differences that’s no way to speak to the likes of Egg n Sammy, out of order imo

McKay is the only one apart from Gary to play McClean up front. Could never did and can’t recall Swapenchange being so daft. FFS he is a midfielder and a really good one ffs. Please Shell man do not compare him with Lee McCulloch the Londonderry lump is not in the same league as Super Lee.

Lee McCulloch was a striker who we moved to the left. James McClean is a left winger who we moved upfront.

Had the McClean move given us goals as the McCulloch one did then nobody would be posting week in week out about how maybe the opposition will play with no strikers.

McClean isn’t a winger imo as he has no end product or skill for that matter. He is a lump as you say though and runs all day so I guess defenders hate him, so putting him upfront isn’t so bad. The mistake we’ve made (again imo) is playing him on his own (and Fortune on his) instead of alongside a poacher to feed on the scraps. I will agree with the 442 brigade there.

I do like the 451/433 but you need your middle man to stay in the middle and be able to score. We’ve never had that which is why we struggle with it.

Striker, midfielder, however you wish to label him one thing he isn’t is “really good”.
