Well Clarke was left out. Not good enough for an average Wolves side but deemed good enough for us. Wolves didn’t play a left sider upfront on his own with their average strikers on the bench but we did in a do or die match. We had all the possession as an home club lining up like we did should but an average Wolves side win.
There for the taking but given the win with negative tactic s before a ball was kicked.
We want our club back! We want real football!

I’d say their league position suggests they’re not that average.

Granted but 10 corners against 4..67% possession ,8 shots against 3,…lo and behold didn’t score and lost again.Caldwell dicked it up .Not starting with a recognised forward in a crunch game was a joke.

Who would you have preferred to see up front? Fortune or Mckay?

One of them has scored one all season, and the other hasn’t scored (granted, he’s hardly started)

Or, if you need a goal or two do you play your leading goal scorer up front?

He got the team to retain possession and create chances. I’d hardly say he dicked it up, as who’s to say either Fortune or McKay would have scored any of the chances that McLean missed?

I don’t see what else he could have done with the resources he has to hand.

You play 2 recognised strikers.Of the 18 strikers who scored in the championship on Saturday how many do you rekon were having blinders or playing for a team that was playing well on the day?.I bet a good proportion were anonymous but got a goal out of nothing or against the run of play.Instinct is the key and Mckays decent strike rate means he must has some of it.He started with a winger up front.Back to the using players in their best positions ,being we needed a win all that possession worked a treat .

Six goals from McClean is the sort of number of goals you would expect a midfielder to score in a season. Maybe more. Even as a winger he should be chipping in with a few.
Was Waghorn suspended? That puts payed to him but there was Fortune and McKay plus the young loanee lad from Liverpool and our own youngsters. In a match we needed desperately to win why not shit or bust if the choices are there.
Calamitys choice was to purposely not play with strikers or a left winger and make do with a left winger out of position up front on his own. A choice through tactics and not through desperation.
          A wrong choice.

Are you trying to get that sound-bite to catch on? Because it makes you sound about 14. Do you go to the meet and greets, too?

          No you don’t.

We played with Clarke and Fortune for several games. They’re both ‘reocognised’ strikers, but that didn’t work.

You play the player you are most confident will get a goal for you, or will create a goal for you.

James McLean is the best left winger in the squad, but with the dearth of decent options up front, it also looks like he’s rated as the best striker, and Caldwell like Mackay and like Rosler thinks he is the best option to get a goal.

Doesn’t matter if he has ‘Striker’ or ‘Winger’ next to his name in the Optima Stats. If he’s the most likely to score, you play him.

Yes Standish no problem but with another front man just behind him or beside him and with another out and out winger to replace him out wide.

Clarke-Fortune too similar.Either one with McKay and if we’d still have bombed then I would have accepted that and the fact that Caldwell swapped things and did his best with what he had.You have your opinion but we were absolutely toothless and starting with McClean up front was bollocks as the result proved.

Did we not send Clarke back to Wolves a few weeks back due to him not being good enough FFS!. Short term contract withdrawn by mutual consent

                From Matlock to ManU
                What a journey!
