Is this fixture the day after our game with Charlton going to affect our attendance greatly? I mean, we haven’t exactly been setting the World alight of late and so I wondered if the dual supporters might have decided prior to the Reading win last night to buy a ticket for the rugger instead? Half term can sap the pocket of funds to start with, then there are those that may miss both games through going away! It would be a pity if the crowd is low after us winning last night!

M6 on a Friday can be a car park at times though half term usually means lighter traffic.
18 February 2015 at 11:48 pm #139617Stop making excuses.
12-14000 fatties have managed to make it from out of town to the DW every other Friday night for the past 10+ years, so its not that difficult for your masses to make it from inside the borough of Wigan.

Wigan are losers aren’t they, St Helens should be the ones playing the Brisbane Bummers or whoever

It’s their equivalent of the “Champions” League :S

Its a pre-season friendly for the Australian side and the game attracts no points, no medals, no trophies.
It counts for nothing, yet the biggest sport in the world featuring one of the most well-known sides in the world gets shunted aside to make way for a little-old rugby friendly.
Now, run along and make sure you keep the pitch in good nick for the main event of the weekend. ;)

This fixture change has got nothing to do with which club or sport takes precedence, Sky decided.

Not like RL to be pointless is it?

Face it, you are in the process of returning to your natural level. The bubble’s burst, the novelty value has gone and the town is red again.

No, that was because Whelan wouldn’t risk the pitch being cut up and have a run in with the Premier League over it not being up to standard. He was happy for the rugby match to take place on the Sunday but Sky said no and insisted it was played on the Friday. Different scenario this time. We play first. Sky still calling the shots.

Quite an astonishing outburst from the dog regarding the move to Widnes for which the bitterest of rugby fans still hold a grudge ,They seem to forget that that game was not even on the fixture list at RL hq and the fact the fixture which was Sunderland at home I think with the tickets all 5 thousand of them had been purchased before Wigan Rl found out who they were playing .This world club Friendly is just an friendly end of I don’t mind it being a Friday night game mainly coz am working Satday
19 February 2015 at 1:12 pm #139633The games on Friday and Saturday are friendlies effectively with the game on Sunday being the only one that really counts.
There is apparently a trophy on offer on Saturday which is a complete joke. The RFL are trying something new but instead of getting it right, will get it wrong a few times and then give in.
20 February 2015 at 1:02 am #139640Mutty you mak em and tak em but you still play in the shadow of NUFC in that football graveyard of the North East. Is it not finally time you scrapped the Stadium of Shite and groundshare at St James Park.
20 February 2015 at 1:12 am #139641The Klumps are the Man utd of rugby, their onabowt doing a special game down London? Now thats plucking at straws. Why are they not haveing a game at Scotland or Wales. ;)
