Yep, and one of them was from 4 yards My missus could have got that on target. The ratio of shots to shots on target is abysmal. Not just in today’s game but every game. Hence the number of goals we’ve scored this season.

      Agreed !!

How good is his latest interview??

          http://www.wigantoday.net/sport/wigan-a … _1_2983547

He is bordering insanity. Fantastic little quotes like –

“What is important is that we know what we are doing in the short term and also the long term,”

“We have got clear ideas for both, which is why we have invested so much in young players who will benefit the club for many years”.

“Financially there is a huge difference between being in the Premier League and the Championship, and we are not contemplating anything other than getting the points we need from the next 14 games to make sure we stay up.

“Once we do that, we will get the rewards of investing in young players and on a style of play that is going to allow us to realise our ambitions.”

Young players? He whinges that Moses is like having a new player then doesnt play him. He rates Di Santo as one of the best young strikers around and doesnt play him until now that Boselli has seen the loser for what he is and asked to get out. He wont sign Al Habsi, and just wait until Villa have bought him, then say Kirkland coming back is like having a new keeper.

No doubt the usual suspects will tell us that “we have to get behind the team……blah blah” – too late for that.

          Let’s have a look then…….

“What is important is that we know what we are doing in the short term and also the long term,”

It is important…..good business relies on having strategies for the ‘short term’ as well as the ‘long term’ This allows for stabilisation and growth – not really a ‘strategist’ are you?

“We have got clear ideas for both, which is why we have invested so much in young players who will benefit the club for many years”.

I, for one, am pleased to hear that the club does indeed have clear ideas for both long and short term – it shows to me that they are not just ‘winging it’ – further it confirms investment in our youth policy which will come to fruition in ‘the long term’

“Financially there is a huge difference between being in the Premier League and the Championship, and we are not contemplating anything other than getting the points we need from the next 14 games to make sure we stay up.

A little ‘NoShit Sherlock’ about the financial difference between the two leagues but he obviously had to make it for the ‘hard of understanding’ on here. Again, with his contemplation, he is concentrating on securing the points over the next 14 games to ensure we stay in the Priemier League.

“Once we do that, we will get the rewards of investing in young players and on a style of play that is going to allow us to realise our ambitions.”

Correct….the rewards of his planning, investment, youth policy and Priemier League status will help us to realise our ambitions

The rest of your post is pure conjecture…..you really don’t know any of that for a fact…..

          ……..just your humble opinion.

Oh! “we have to get behind the team tomorrow…. blah blah!”

Let me see Wigan 0-4 last week ,Chelsea scored six against West Brom 1-0 Wigan

Look at Chelsea’s goals, and look closer at West Brom’s defending.

I’m sure we won’t defend as bad as that tomorrow.[/quote]

Yet again the chosen one leads us to another defeat. Another toothless display, with the genius spaniard spending the whole game stood in the technical area, looking absolutlely terrified, hoping that we somehow manage to scrape a draw to enable him and the club to carry on the pretence that he is a manager who can achieve something, anything at all for us.

Sadly, he cannot. He is without doubt the worst premier league manager we have had. His selections and substitutions at times are baffling to say the least.

His excuses are lamentable. Last week it was the pitch and referee. This week it will be just the referee. His actual excuse for today is given below in full

                      http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal … 535418.stm

To quote from the above link – “I don’t think there was any contact and, if there was, it was not enough for it to be a penalty.

“The referee was only five yards away but at the moment we are not getting the luck with decisions.

“Our player is trying to clear the ball and I would say their player should have been given a yellow card.”

Yet he does not mention the fact that Birmingham hit the bar early on, and should have scored, and Kirkland made a fantastic goal line save to keep us in it, along with Brambles goal line scrambled clearance. It could very well have been 3-0.

To have a player like Nzogbia in your team and play him on the wrong wing to prove his ‘tactical genius’ is downright pathetic. To substitute him because he has dared to criticise our predicament is even more purile from the Messiah that some of you consider Roberto Martinez to be.

The facts speak for themselves, his signings are not good enough, and some may never get the chance to prove they are due to leaving them on the bench.

The ‘legends’ midfield today shows him up for what he is. Not very bright.

Thomas – tough tackler, tackles, and does some tackling
Diame – does some tackles, not as many as Thomas
Scharner – does some tackles, maybe a few more than Diame, but is in fact a centre half
Nzogbia – a very good RIGHT winger, playing on the left wing, confused, wanting away from the madness.
McArthy – a decent enough prospect, does some tackling, interceptions etc.
Gomez (sub) – pathetic. All round pathetic. Nothing at all to offer, except some spanish company for the illustrious Roberto at the club, maybe sharing bottle of red now and again discussing the future and building a team around him.

Does this midfield ever create anything apart from the odd goal (Diame)? These lot behind Rodellga, who is lighter weight than Barry McGuigan, up front by himself will ensure that there is lots of storm and bluster (except Gomez) in the middle, but not much in the way of creativity.

I would go on to say that i do not believe we will win another premier league game under Roberto Martinez. How can international Premier League players look up to a man who never played at the top level, or managed at the top level prior to this disastrous appointment, and listen to a word he says – he signed Gomez and Scotland, the whole squad must still be wondering why.

I shall not post another thread (no doubt gaining the plaudits from the Superfans) on here regarding Martinez, until he has been sacked or resigns. This i trust will not be long.

Until then, fair play to all of you who hang on to Roberto, dreaming of a glory that he cannot possibly deliver. Maybe we will stay up, maybe not. But the facts speak for themselves. Roberto Martinez is Wigans worst Premier League Manager, and Jason Scotland is Wigans worst ever Premier League No 9.

I love my club and will always get behind them but its obvious to the blind that the players have no leadership from him…

I have been on Latics after a loss and the players have been applauded from the pitch.
Now though, there is no heart what so ever.
The Managers so intent on proving he was right, he is willing to sacrifice our premiership position.
Surely like me, when Moses was signed you must have thought it’s two up front and he could be brilliant.
But still playing a formation that shows us desperate for goals and terrible in defence.
Mark Hughes in paper wants to get back into managment.
