I suppose it was down to spurs taking their foot off the gas but we were inches away from getting back in that game.
First half, worst I’ve seen from a Latics team since getting to the prem, including the 9-1 hammering. However, second half picked up the pace and gave it a go.. Lets hope they play like that for 90 mins on Saturday. :woohoo:Funny…..

Don’t recall loads of you outside the training protesting like the Blackburn fans….where are your banners at games? Where are your “Martinez Out” or “Sacked in the Morning” chants..and about Whelan…where are your bidding consortiums with rich middle/far-eastern benefactors? What have you done to increase revenues at the club besides buying match tickets?

We are not Man U…we have no money (but we don’t have a debt either), we can’t invest, we can’t attract players…fook me, we can’t even attract fans from our home town.
My view is maybe we do need to go down, regroup, get rid of the deadwood and start again…how long can we keep patching things up in the Prem year on Year?? It’s not Martinez’s fault or Whelan’s fault, it’s just other clubs being more rich/stupid than ours… Not being defeatist but realistic.
A professional footballer should know how to play football no matter what the tactics are…their ability to produce the goods depends on the skill of the player…which some of our players are being found not to have this season.
Think to table shows we’re not Man U. No one will invest in a side thats just happy to go through the motions. We have no money coz people dont want to go a watch crap week in week out with a manager that cant see it. You seem to forget that sides we’ve had in the past, in the prem, with players on a lot less were a better side that the present day footballers (term used lightly).
i do agree with your protest statement though. But in defence we are always being told by the lightsiders to get behind the team, no negativity so to speak. Maybe thats your answer.On another note the lock on my shed has rusted shut over the winter and i cant get it open to get my fishing tackle out.

as a person who considers himself to be a lightsider i’m becoming deeply frustrated now & whereas in the past i would defend martinez, the players, coaches etc etc, there is only so much a person can take. bobby will always be a legend in my eyes as a player, but sadly, as a manager, it has not worked. even a side 3rd from bottom has played us off the park. even when we pulled it back from the free kick, i just knew we didn’t have it in us to go get an equaliser & god forbid, try & get a winner. this season is the end of wigan athletic as a premier league club.Good post
