My take on this is that the lad is trying his best, but at the moment looks just a shade out of his depth. I think he lacks in some facets of his game to succeed long term as a target man in the managers system.(eg heading ability a la heskey). What disappoints me is the fact the martinez must have known this when he signed him.As a target man you MUST have the ability to knock on the high ball to other players with your head and Scotland can’t do that.
Ok so we now play the ball to feet when we can, and there lies a problem. At times we have to change, we can’t because of Scotlands lack of ability in the air.Longer contract.
