LMB the Dove is now a shadow of the river it was back then. The decline started with the influx of avian predators, cormorants and then goosanders. Most people fish for the few big barbel that are present(I actually held the river record from 2000-2004 with a fish of 13.4, slight brag there lads). Caught this fish when I was resident in Doveridge for a few years.Boy, did I get some fishing done in those days.
Grayling are still there, but not in the huge numbers they once were.
My aim these days are the pike, but TBH I don’t visit much these days.Dove grayling, 2lb +
and some people think fishing is boring.
