That is what we knew when we signed him.
That’s if he is allowed to run at them.
In the right set up in this league a fit Grant Holt would bag a load of goals.
And I say he wouldn’t for the reason mentioned in my previous post.
The fact is neither of us know but the people who work with him every day do and they obviously don’t think he’s up to the job.
I would imagine the people that work with him every day realise he’s been injured for quite some time and realise he isn’t ready for much yet. Bit of a daft statement really.
I would imagine the people that work with him every day realise that no amount of rehabilitation will make him ready. Unfortunately time is not on his side. He was shite when he joined us and there is no way he will ever be good enough to play for us again.
Sammy knows you know. He believes in Coyle Rosler and McKay our super coaches. They certainly got it all right. Nice one Sammy. But if that’s your opinion you are entitled to it and who would anyone else be to criticise the opinion of a fellow fan.Seasiders ony our tail.
Dont mind Perkins but why did Junior not start instead of Power? Mind you the manager knows best. Do not question the Coaches.
My opinion counts for nowt and you got that spot on Sammy, its an opinion only. Nothing more than a opinion. What I have observed over the last six or seven seasons has been quite alien to what I was always used to following at Latics. Not since the Bruce era have we played football how I and many others like football to be played and that is what shapes opinions.I know having opinions counts for nothing but yip I suppose we should put our trust in the experts Bobby (started all this sideways football, lone striker negative tripe then turns his back), Coyle (continues with lone striker), Rosler (swaps and changes keeps lone striker) Malky ( picks up the pieces after the sell off, but sticks with lone striker) Caldwell ( prefers lone striker but at least shows he isn’t as stubborn as his mentor Bob by playing two strikers sometimes). Only opinions and they count for nowt of course. Surely though if only not to be stuck in the position we have been lately with only one available striker it is worth not letting Grant go but totally respect your opinion that the coaches and managers know best. They have certainly took us a long way the last three seasons.
And you call me stupid with that empty beaded statement.
I think it is you doing the winding up.
He could do as good a job as any in a footballing line up but maybe you are right he may not at Latics if the manager plays those negative boring tactics he chooses.Or even come to some proper arrangement with Boycey.
So he will just get settled into a side that’s gelling together and then piss off back to his chums at Manure just like Jonjoe. If only we had just signed someone in all that time over the summer to cover McNaughton or vice versa.
Just what we need. Sounds like a handy signing.
Hope he knows how to run backwards and sideways!Simple answer to that Mackem is yes it does but just worry about the massive problems Sunderland have Bonny Lad because those debts just won’t go away but your fans will like rats leaving a sinking ship.
Not quite so yawn inducing as that display of negative tippy-tappy dross under Bruce though. We were flying in the top half of the Prem before Whelan sold Palacios, Taylor and Heskey in the January sales.
My hope for this season was to stay up and maybe finish mid-table after the fire sale.So league position wise we are doing OK. It is the football we play at times which is so bloody boring and lacking in urgency.Last night was a fine example of how the game should not be played, even with an injury crisis. Faithless would have to re-write the lyrics to insomnia watching that.It was equal in footballing entertainment to that garbage John Beck played at Cambridge and Knob End. Yes the defence were dire too.
That is a problem. The players do try and there are some workmanlike performances but they are severely constrained by the type of football they are expected to play. Thankfully GC is a little more flexible than our Spanish friend at Everton and he will change things if we ever get a near to complete squad back.
A point saved when we reverted to two strikers but three points were there for the taking yet again. Defending was shambolic again which needs sorting.Unfortunately this seems the style he likes to play. I know there were injuries but Garys true intentions are showing. Such a shame because we have some good players who look good going forward.Tonight’s style was horrible and boreing and nothing at all to do with players who were available. It was a style of choice by G.C.
