So you’re taking a coach now.
Have you decided against what we were discussing on the way back from Wolves?
My favourite ever match?
I’d definitely have to go for Swan Vestas just for the box.
He played just twice Horc. Brought in by Bryan Hamilton to replace the injured Brian Griffiths. I didnt Know he was American. He was actually born in York but went to college in America where he played ‘soccer’.
Not actually sure that he was American.
I have to agree with JamesC here.
Both of Thomas’ challenges were foolish/reckless and the second one could easily have been a straight red on any other day.
You can’t go in with two feet raised like that and whether or not you get the ball is immaterial.
However with hindsight I do believe that it would have been better to take him off before he got any further in trouble but as we all know hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Hendry needs to be very careful when he returns from suspension because he is a valuable member of the squad and with the amount of cautions he has picked up so far any more and he’ll be up for further absenteeism and that of course could prove very detrimental to our top flight status come May.
Pasquale Bruno has to be a candidate for shortest debut (and indeed career).Ferdino Hernandez was on for a testimonial by Bruno’s standards.
Pasquale Bruno has to be a candidate for shortest debut (and indeed career).Weird! We sponsored that game and I’m actually looking at the commemorative plaque that we got from the game as I type this.
14th February 1998
Wigan Athletic v Grimsby TownAnd we were sh!!te
Bidstrup? Own goal? Which game was that?
Yesterday was his first league start but yes he did make his debut against United at the DW and again correct in that Blackburn is away.
Oh and Sibierski netted on his home and away debuts.
Eamon O’Keefe??Eamonn O’Keefe scored in a 3-2 win at Northampton on his debut but Micky Quinn was the goalscorer for Wigan in a 1-1 draw a week later against Hartlepool when O’Keefe made his debut at Springfield Park.
Jones, Ellington, Horsfield that just leaves one more
By my reckoning he would be the fifth
Sorry John, I miss read your post, I read it as ‘there aren’t any’.
So there are 4 then.
I’ll start with Graeme Jones.[/quote]
One down three to go
By my reckoning he would be the fifth
Soz.
How about players scoring on both home and away league debuts?
BTW there aren’t many
Winston White vs Hull, Carl Furlong vs Scarborough, Wayne Biggins vs Northmapton all scored n their league debutsWayne Biggins’ debut was against Northampton Town November 18th 1995 and the game finished goalless.
His goal that I believe you are referring to came on the opening day of the following season.
Winston White scored on his home debut against Hull City on 3rd April 1993 but had already made his debut a week earlier away at Leyton Orient and wasn’t on the scoresheet on a 2-1 win.
