Fekin hell boys lets give credit where its due. JB has not set the place on fire with big performances week after week, but last night he looked awesome. It’s funny how the glass half empty brigade are quick to talk about the poor standard of opposition when we win.

I really don’t know how good the opposition was last night. Yes they have just sacked their manager, yes they have played in the champions league, yes they are supposed to be the second best team in Slovinia, so where does that put um in the club rankings.?
All I know for sure is that we tore um apart, made um look non league and won our first home game in Europe, lets talk about that fact eh. :cheer:

On that performance tonight we are 3 or 4 leagues better than them. Of course we always make it hard for ourselves by not putting teams to bed, but 3-1 did flatter them.

he is only one of two, out of our long list of Managers, who guided us to our second only relegation in our league history. And with regards to, “we wouldn’t be in the Europa League”: there was a small contribution by the players who took part in our cup conquest; it wasn’t a one man show !

So you won’t give Roberto credit for winning the FA Cup, but, when he was forced to cut costs by the Chairman, you feel he should take the blame for relegation.

You must be one of those unfortunate people who are unable to admit that they are ever wrong.
Try to understand this is not about what Bob did for us, of course Winning the FA cup was an unbelievable achievement for our club, even though TBH he could have easily blown it.
His team selection for the early rounds wasn’t too inspiring, jeeesh we only scraped through against Macclesfield with a pen.

It’s about the way he left us and the fact that Bobby knew he was going to Everton well before the Swansea game. Bill Kenwright spilled the beans on that gem.

So as you say Bobby gets the thumbs up from me for the FA cup win, but also gets my thumbs down for jumping ship after our relegation. Simples.

That’s exactly what was going through my mind when I was stood underneath that scarf selling van dodging the rain.
Fans were getting pint after pint and holding them up with a drunken swagger singing tics songs.

Mind you I bet a lot of them had been drinking for 8 hours before getting to the ground, so In think we can give them the benefit of the doubt George.

It’s akin to be dumped by a girlfriend and then claiming she was ugly and crap in bed anyway.

              Ever so slightly embarrassing.

No more embarrassing and boring as bleating on as to how beautiful she was and how much you will miss her and wondering whether life can go on without her.

              He’s gone, get over it.
At least he has had the decency to give us £19M for two average players.
Go on then: point out who has been bleating about Martinez and how they can’t get over him leaving.

I’ll give you 48 hours to come up with a thread on this forum of that ilk.

Those who supported and appreciated what Martinez did moved on a long time ago and are currently (in the most part) supporting Coyle.

There are a couple of people who were his biggest supporters who have now turned full circle.

But go on. 48 hours or I’ll set Griff’s lad on you.
Spot on, as usual.

Apart from the bit about my lad. Like me, he’s past caring now. Even 9-year olds move on
How cringeworthy is that comment?

The lad who sits next to me in the ground, also lives opposite me, but we are often at one another’s throats on the way home from the match. You can disagree dear chaps, honestly it’s allowed.

I’ve sussed it! You were the two play ground buddies who skipped round the school yard holding hands singing “nobody’s joining our gang”? or was that Benjamin and Button?

Look I’m one of those ex Martinez lovers who Standish has picked out has “turning a full circle” and now wants him to fail big style.

The only reason being that he dumped us for Everton, having been the manager who got us relegated. Why not stay with the “team he loved” and have a go at getting um back to where they was when he joined??.

Yes you can put comparisons to it if you like, lets say your Senior Manager at work feks up the business through making bad decisions. All the workforce get laid off and then the same said manager gets a top job at Coca cola or some blue chip company earning £250k per year.
Do you wish him all the best and hope he has a long and prosperous career, or do you think what a tw*t, he’s the reason I’ve lost my job, I hope he feks um up and is brandished to line up with the Brocol house posse once a week.

Supporters / posters on here all have different views and that’s to be expected. It’s a bit like hating [sorry Griff in advance], the Chubster’s due to the shenanigans that went on over 25 years ago. Many people of Wigan still can’t understand it and argue one town two clubs.

My marker is firmly put on Martinez, Jones, Lawrence and the goal keeping coach who nobody can name, to be failures, just like the Chubsters were at the rugby awards ceremony the other night.

Everton have a reasonable squad, no European fixtures and no more League Cup ties.

However, their last three home games are Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.

They could be a candidate for a good FA Cup run. Has any manager won the cup two years running but with different clubs?

Or more importantly has a team ever won the FA Cup two years running, with two different managers and being in two different leagues. :S

After what I saw last night I would say his Everton team has a chance of the Premier league title ( no joke-serious!!!!) because Everton were absolutelyoutstanding last night and would have beaten anyone .

Really, and do you include the second half in your “absolutely outstanding” comment when they lost it 2-0 and the Toon also hit the woodwork and missed two sitters.??

I remember us being absolutely outstanding under Bobby for 45, 60, 70 mins and coming off the pitch after 90 mins with no points.

Lets see how the season progresses for him and the club he has always dreamed of managing. B)

You expect to be taken seriously with a comment like that? I know roughly how old you are but seeing what you type, are you Benjamin Button?
Oh come on Griff lighten up! surely you are also too long in the tooth to know that I don’t give a fek whether people take me seriously or not on this board. It’s a bit of filling in time between meals and watching football, that’s all.

PS who the fek is Benjamin Button, is he a character from one of your best sellers? :P

Top 4 Bob wont be too worried. We aint scored 3 at home this season yet.

We’ve also not had our compliment of strikers available for two games running yet.

Tonight Bobby had the luxury of having both Kone and Jelovicz sat on his bench.

I am willing to bet anyone on whether Everton will finish in the top 6 this season let alone top 4.

He got away with having to rely on two screaming Bainsey free kicks to get the points last week, [you just know he loves his teams to score from “open play”]

Tonight he master minded a superb first half, which was always going to be the Lakuka show with all the fuss made about him.

However, second half was back to what Bob does well, give teams the initiative to get forward and concede goals from “open play”. in the end they were hanging on…sounds familiar?

I hate Alan hardpoo with a vengeance, but he must be wondering how his team didn’t snatch a draw or even a win out of that game, which was really over and done with after 30 odd minutes.
