Thought Dowd did a decent job, couple of things missed, but generally got the big decisions right.
As soon as that tackle went in on Figgs I turned to my mate and said straight red. Thought he was going to bottle it for a moment but did the right thing.
It just shows you though how hyped up you can get after and during the game, McDermott said in his post match interview, that they were two down at the time of the sending off and that cost um the third.

What a journey! This is getting a little trite now if the truth be known !Why bother getting involved with the thread then Fil? You know dam well from the subject details, what the gist of the thread would be. B)
Having had 25 years of the chubsters pulling my team to bits, mainly crowd related jibes, I am going to wollow in this glory for as long as it takes. Most middle aged Latics fans will know what I mean, we don’t really need to explain it all again do we?.
Just be a good boy and avoid these threads if you don’t want to take sides one way or the other, let us wollow in peace! :P

What a journey! It wont be a big surprise if it happens, we know the script now and having a decent January window with none of our big names going out will be the thing that saves us each season.
No doubt the summer exodus will happen and Bobby will hopefully have some replacements lined up.
The likes of Kone, Di Santo and McCarthy will get their big moves and the law of averages will mean they will not get enough game time with their new clubs and go the way of Chimbonda, Palacios, Bullard, Ellington, Roberts, Heskey etc etc etc.
There are some players who have done well for themselves after leaving us Baines, Valencia and more recently Moses, but these are exceptions rather than the norm.If they listen to what Bobby tells them and be patient, they will get their big move when the time is right for them and the club. B)

What a journey! You forgot to mention that they won quite convincingly. Just as you forgot to mention the swathes of blue seats left vacant in the visiting section of the Madjeski yesterday.I would say it was a good weekend all round for the empty seats. Just goes to show that full houses dont guarantee wins.
Looking forward to seeing the DW packed out next Saturday evening…..?
Was akin to us beating Huddersfield in the cup last week, was really expected, given the standing of both teams.
The soup or leek is shrinking by the minute. There are just a handful of teams competing each year, the rest are cattle fodder and going down the drain slowly but surely. Bradford bulls are the latest club to be dropping down the slippery slope.
That is yet another club with a massive history winning titles, cups the lot, now they have no money and a pish poor team. Who will be next Salford, Wakefield, Castleford?
OK come back and say that the EPL is restricted to 4 or 5 clubs who can win the title, but the money is there for clubs fighting just to stay in the league, money that is a distant dream for chubsterville dot com.
As for next Saturday piemon, if you want a bet on whether we’ll beat the pathetic crowd at the DW today then I’m your man.

What a journey!Good stuff, thanks for all your help.Just print off a copy of this thread using a colour printer, punch two holes in and slot it into a ring binder.
Put the following title onto a white sticky back label ” Sing up you c’hants” and bang it on the front of the binder. B)
Run a few thousand copies off and stand outside the springy stand a couple of hours before the Liverpool game. I’m sure at about £2.87 a go you should get a few shifted. Autograph um and up the price to £2.94.and….Voilla, job sorted. goodpost

What a journey!Superb performance yesterday, with some clinical finishing to boot.
No complaints from any Latics fans, surely.
Read the Wigan today comments for real negativity. Unbelievable
Hallelujah!!!! B) goodpost
John,
I will ALWAYS give praise if it is due, and also will criticize if I feel it is necessary.
But Sunday was a classic, clinical performance. I was very pleased.
It wasn’t actually aimed at you Dave, your comment just happened to be in the same quote box as the person my Hallelujah jibe was aimed at. B)
Fair enough, John. Cheers.
Surely not me fat fella, thought we’d called a truce?
But just to drag it out a bit more, I enjoyed Sunday thanks but that was the point of my post your referring to again, i.e level playing field means more wins and that nice weekend feeling !!
Now lets just leave it shall we, I’m converted and will try my very best not to go down the route of the Wigan Today Suicide Watch posters!
What a journey! If Bobby keeps to his general formation for league games, he will not start with Macmanaman.
The reason being going forward he looks great, tracking back and tackling, he’ll play less games than Lee Catt. Was it the united game when, ok he came on late, but was left blowing bubbles chasing one of their players back who set up RVP for the fourth goal.
The lad for me has a bit of red mist that he will have to temper before he becomes a regular first team player.
Having said all that the lad had a great game yesterday and for once took his chance. goodpost
