A few years ago my brother who we called Mitage tried to join the European Golf circuit.
I was asked by a mate if I thought he was going to make it as a pro golfer. I said no chance our mitage shanks.

What a journey!I remember someone coming out with exactly the same kind of post last season when QPR bought SWP, Cisse, Barton and Boothroyde.
SWP yes i did. If you are saying that i suggested any of the other three then you had better start archiving because i have never rated any of the others and know i wouldnt have suggested any of them.[/quote]
Not referring to you at all Yosser, I just remember a few on here went ballistic when QPR signed those players moaning for Britain about why we couldn’t get that type of player.
That ex Fulham loanee looked OK, but to be honest seemed like Connor Sammon but more jammy to me. :woohoo:http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w311/sniffy99/femme_56.gif

They have a good repair chap and not that expensive. Charged me about 15 dabs for sorting out my slipping gears and giving it a bit of a service.

What a journey!I agree with bicky & johndoe on this one. After the liverpool thing, plans & preparation should have been put in place to focus on the upcoming season, not to give fans the concern of martinez allegedly going to another club after turning one down previously. To be fair to whelan he has said he hopes spurs “leaves us alone.” i know its frustrating for fans but in the 30 odd yrars ive been supporting wigan we are simply a stepping stone club for both players & managers alike. And that’s how it will always be, we just have live with it. All the other EPL clubs apart from the top 5-6 clubs, are in the same position.
Even if Bobby stays or we get another manager who keeps us in the top 10 year after year, players will still come and move on as will managers, there are far bigger and better clubs out there. We are what we are and its not belittling our club, its being realistic.
Whelan saw a vision for this club and has neigh on got what he wanted. A European place may not be out of reach and that has to be an achievable goal, if we can get a few top 10 finishes under our belt.
What we are experiencing is down to one man and one man only, DW. I for one don’t begrudge him the right to publicly talk about allowing his manger to move on to a better job if it was on put on the table, after all he is also being realistic.
Forget about having loads of time to plan for next season with our current squad, that won’t happen. The big transfer deals involving the top clubs will start a few weeks after the Euros have finished, then it will cascade down to the rest of the clubs between then and the end of the transfer window due to them having the money from losing their top players.
We may lose key players the last week of the transfer season, its crap but it will probably happen, that’s were we are in the scheme of things.
It happens every year, have you got such short memories to remember how the script has gone for as long as I can remember? What us fans must do and I mean us all, is not suddenly get above our station and expect players and managers come flocking to our club.
Our wage structure, our history, our fan base, our ground etc etc will always determine were we are in the scheme of things.
What our club as achieved since getting in the league is a minor miracle, there are loads of clubs in the football league who have all those attributes I’ve just allured to and would love to be were we are, it must be crippling um with envy.I for one will not get my knickers in a twist if Whelan wants lord Bobby up in public or indeed any of our players. He keeps reiterating that he doesn’t want to lose any of them, but won’t stand in their way if they want to move on to better things.
If they do move on to “bigger and better thing” lets hope the trend continues to show that leaving Wigan Athletic, although might be great on bulking up the wallet, doesn’t mean you become world beating footballers with successful careers ON THE PITCH!
I’ll not start naming all those players who have fallen into this trap you know who they are. ;)From Matlock to ManU

What a journey!I once got mithered whilst lozing round a pool in Icmeler in Turkey by some fit Turkish lass who was offering a shave and massage.
She asked me did I want the full monty so I eagerly said yip.
Daft me ended up looking like Yule Bryner and full of blisters, from being thrown about on a lathered marble table by some 20 stone loin clothed attired geezer.
Couldn’t walk proper for 3 days and told mi mate that the fit lass had given me the massage hoping he’d faw for it. Little did I know that he already knew what the crack was having overheard a cockney lad telling his mate at the bar about he’s experience. :woohoo:
Think it took about a month for the bit of hair I had on mi head to grow back.
