For the Man Utd game, purchasing one ticket will not suffice, and if people purchase tickets and then don’t attend, it is flagged up.
I didnt say they didnt attend – there are plenty of Man Utd fans within a 5 mile radius of the DW who would have attended, and probably attended against Swansea and/or Villa, and will probably attend against Stoke on 31 March, just to get a ticket for the 16th April. There’s also plenty of Wigan people who will be wanting a last chance to see Man Utd live, who will be attending games at the moment to qualify for the right to buy a ticket – Lets see if all these “new fans” still turn out to watch the game against Newcastle, where you may expect the crowd to be around 23,000, seeing as the away end will sell out.
Dont forget all those Man Utd fans who have now attended a Wigan home game and will therefore be eligible to purchase a ticket for the forthcoming fixture.
Other than extra freebies being dished out, I cant see a reason why more people would pay – no win at the DW in 7 months is hardly going to have folk stampeding to the DW ticket office.
The Wigan game on the 3rd weekend of March for the last two seasons has seen the losers (Burnley & Brum) relegated that season.
Is there going to be a hat-trick this year?
I think you’ll find they can. What has irked just about everyone on there is the team selection, which was bad judgement at best, and downright disrespectful at worst.
Still, playing your 2nd string against the bottom of the league is hardly something you are likely to see, considering where you are placed…
Its back at 66.67%.
Which is almost 5 times what Manuel’s win % is for this season.
Nice to see Shane Warne take a leaf out of Bobbie’s and rest his 4 best players against the bottom of the league goodpost goodpost goodpostThere’s someone below you in the Premier League?
BBC Radio Manchester said there were 14 away fans – thats where I got my figure of home fans from.
I believe Sammy was implying that we still have to give away thousands of freebies to get 14000+ home fans in the DW.
Bonjour espérons que le Dragons Catalans font la victoire d’habitude chaque année à DW forteresseDésolé de vous décevoir. Comme les Latics faire régulièrement, le catalan a quitté la forteresse DW avec la racine carrée de rien.
Down to 20% now. 14450 home fans turned up, all of which paid for their seat.
It looks like at least one current sporting manager in Wigan is certain to be in charge for next weekend….
1 a piece and they really pulled away from us didn’t they (rolly eye thingy )A point and two more goals better actually.
On the bright side, only 5 of your last 11 home games are at “Fortress DW”. Alas, 3 of the next 4 on the road are at Liverpool, Chelsea & Arsenal.
That said, with the last two fixtures against Blackburn & Wolves, I reckon you’ll still be in the mix come kick-off at Ewood Park as the bottom 5 are so much worse than everyone else this season.
As a pie connoisseur, I say you can’t beat a Wiggin Kebab!
One home fan taking a swing at a bunch of kids, frustrated because his side were getting tonked and they were singing in front of him.
You’ve had a few tonkings this year – should DW ban you all for being frustrated when the visiting fans take the pi$$?
Six months tomorrow since we won a game at home !! Now that sort of home form is indeed fascinating !!
The last two home wins at the DW have been by Wigan Warriors & Wigan Warriors. In different seasons.
How many chubsters watched those two wins?, we had over 20,000 at the DW for that boring 0-0 draw.
Move along little egg boy.
Attendances and possession do not get you any points. I would have thought even a rotund, baldy the wrong side of 40 would have grasped that by now

25% Losing Record now.
