Yes we need to bin Frank Lampard’s love child ! When we brought Joe Hungbo on in the second half we actually got about 4 good crosses into the area; our first dangerous cross being in the 67th minute. Good to see Robinson back on the pitch; he needs to start on that left side on Tuesday night.
Asamoah strikes me as being a bit of a petulant kid; so he probably didn’t like GC telling him off for conceding an absolutely needless red card on Saturday.
Bainsey for me, too. I think his experience on the pitch, at the highest level for 98% of his long career, is just as good as some of the lower league “journey men” that are being touted for the job (non of which are filling me with enthusiasm).
When I questioned the seemingly high turnover of staff at the club, I was informed that the vacancies were for new roles as the backroom team was being expanded. I remain unconvinced.
Why was Carragher not even on the bench at Peterborough. No proper explanation, just that he’d been dropped. Stinks, if you ask me.
No smoke without fire; so I think things are going to get a lot worse before the good times return.
Liam did a better job than SM.
Has Jamie Carragher got coaching qualifications ? He must have seen as much of the Latics as any other potential Manager; and must have an idea how to re-shape our current squad.
That’s now official !
Barrow & Whelan in temporary charge.
Good shout CW; I’d vote for Bainsey
Respect to you !
Please don’t be offended by my post.
I think you need to be on Mastermind (specialist subject: the Latics) with the sped of that response 😂😂😂
Generally I would echo most of those comments; but would like to add the following.
I have followed the Latics since 1968 and always been proud of our teams “punching above their weight” and being capable of claiming “big scalps”. To me, that was one special ingredient that made us an exciting team to follow; through the highs and lows of all the divisions. I’m afraid the charismatic Latics are no longer and it makes the annual decision whether to renew your season ticket harder and harder.
In fairness I thought the Latics gave a good dogged performance and I was happy with a point. With an imposing centre forward we would win more games, I’m sure.
Ryan Lowe walked from Preston when he didn’t get support from above and didn’t hold the transfer reigns.
He’ll do the same here if he doesn’t get what he needs in January.
At least Ryan Lowe had the balls to give young Bettoni a chance.
That would never have happened with SM.
Let’s hope that stirs things up and the goals start to come. Costelloe & Saydee must have been embarrassed at being upstaged by “a kid”.
You’re correct CW.
We have now become Wigan Apathetic !
Yesterday was embarrassing.
Just a small observation to add to that CW. It’s a non football issue; but there is no smoke without fire !
Have you noticed how many back office jobs are advertised via the Latics website; some repeatedly. It appears that the engine room isn’t a happy place either; going by the high turnover of staff. When you look at the roles, they are not new positions that are being added to the team; they are replacements for staff that have jumped from an unhappy ship.
Aye, chin up; a win against Cardiff and a win at Plymouth will soon see this game forgotten.
