I hope that our new Chef de Football has more than one recipe as his signature dish and is able to serve up a variety of tasty football. We have to be more adaptable and able to play a more aggressive & attacking style at home, and save the one up front cautious style for tricky away games ( not just 1UF for the hell of it, cos that’s what fashion demands ).

Maybe we will be treated to a feast of football; it’s certainly whetted my appetite for the new season.
Don’t think Paul will find it an absolute picnic at the DW; in fact things might prove a trifle awkward, but I think he’ll bring home the bacon and the fans will eventually get their just deserts.

So, here’s a question for all of you who are going on Friday but have referred to Martinez as Judas etc on Cockney Latic:Despite your previous insults aimed at him, will you be supporting and cheering him on as a Wigan Legend?
Or will he still be Judas, Bottom Four Bob etc?
Or he can still be all three, in chronological order: Legend, BFB, Judas.
But I’ll still buy him a glass of Rioja in the Rigbye Arms, afterwards.
I have just looked at the ‘Latics Legends’ squad for the match, and I don’t think they would have done any worse than this seasons squad in the Championship.
