Or a season long loan, with free haircuts thrown in.

Especially if the F.A dock 3 points !

I’ve always fancied Fulham for the drop, so here is an alternative scenario:

Wigan – 3 straight wins ( last throw of the dice and GC realises that we need 2 up front and to take some risks, cos it’s shit or bust ) ending in 45 points.

Blackpool V Fulham: Pool win their last home game of the season, for their fans !
Fulham V Boro: Boro must win whilst there is still a chance of a top two finish !
Norwich V Fulham: Canaries need home win for the Championship !

Net result Fulham relegated on 45 points with an inferior goal difference.

I’ll take that.

So come on Gary, play some brave football :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yep, I think you are correct, Standish Fella.

We now need to add to our “refound” posession a little bit of “knowing when to mix it up”, otherwise we are truly back to the old Bobby style. Last night we started to pass back & sideways at free kicks / corners, when we should have been put the ball into the penalty area; to put a very poor Millwall team under pressure. I can see it, you can see it; but why oh why can’t our Managers & Coaches not see it ! Then we have a throw in about 3 or 4 yards from their goal line; the only time that Kqvist trots over to take a long throw; and yes he drops it to the feet of Perch who is about 8 feet away. For God sake man, the only time we have created danger in recent weeks is when the ball has been thrown into the box !! Remember the Bolton game !! Rant over.

Both McKay and Caldwell had chances to throw caution to the wind and swap things round particularly up front and neither did.Ultimately no forward threat has cost us all season long and Caldwell fell foul of it himself in his 2 games .I would prefer an experienced manager but I hoped he would have had the nuts to drop the waste up front and go for the juglar but nope same lame team as Friday. All possession and thats all.It just puts the turd on top of the cake in what has been a comedy season.Don’t think Caldwell has endeared himself to some of us, me definately not

The manager here is little more than a figurehead coz we simply refuse to move away from Robby Martinez’s blueprint for the club. No it is not Bob’s fault ,he has moved on but why else is that fucking prick Barrow still at the club and why does it appear that 5 different managers have had basically the same ideas?. Does the manager even have a say in who comes to the club?. Delort and Riera arrive and are not picked by Rosler then McKay and the Liverpool wonderkisd come in only for Malky not to pick them. Whether you rate Fortune or not it simply does not work with him yet he is fireproof. It is only my opinion and yes I’m hurting like hell as everyone is but we will never improve until we can employ a manager who can bring in his own support team and we get fucking shut of Bobby’s sidekicks. Im utterly fed up.
Barrow’s the only Martinez ‘sidekick’ there.

And I’m not entirely sure how much imput he’s had over the past couple of years.

The mere fact that Caldwell has got the team playing on the ground and back to a possession based style would suggest Barrow has had little input in the tactics under Coyle, Rosler, or Mackay.
Can’t take that into account until it happens.

Think your spot on Egg and I can also see a long legal case unwinding. The powers that be have to get this absolutely right. Trouble is we are right at the end of the season and this has a huge bearing on the relegation issue.
Maybe that’s why we fired Malky.
Without MM, it’s less likely to predjudice the creeps in the FA into a spiteful attempt to do the Latics over !

wear brown shoes for every game from now to the end.

BROWN SHOES WILL DO IT.

Kin Old Brown Shoes got us into this mess in’t first place.

I think 3 wins will do it personally.

Rotherham:

Fulham (A) 0 points
Norwich (H)0 points
Reading (H) 1 point
Leeds (A) 0 points

That puts them 8 above us. We beat Millwall, Brighton and one of the other two. Voila!

Nice one Eggy; now take into account a three points deduction for fielding a non registered player.

So because we have changed our manager the same bunch of players will immediately transform themselves into great ones overnight????
I admire your (misguided) optimism but face it we are relegated albeit not mathematically I grant you but to expect this dire bunch to suddenly hit blistering form overnight is beyond comic book expectations!
I’m sorry but it isn’t going to happen and pointless pontificating about the ridiculous notion that it might, face it ,it isn’t that bad when you do.

I’ve followed the Tics since the Gordon Milne era; so you could say that I’ve experienced all of our recent history. And you know what; it’s been great !!!
Yes, I’m prepared for Div 1 and our next unwritten chapter, but it would be good if the unfashionable Latics could once again beat the odds and wave two fingers at the anti brigade; even if we secured our Championship status by three decimal places of goal difference.

Hey, it’s only football; life eventually teaches you that. So whatever league we are in, I’ll still turn up to enjoy the social banter & a pint, and maybe three points now and again !

in reply to: A team for promotion…not #141135
Football isn’t played on paper which is why we are where we are as opposed to chasing promotion as we were expected too.

It’s not played on grass either; well, not at our midden anyway.

in reply to: Four Straight Wins #141134
Odds on that happening will be very long –
My prediction

Millwall 1 point
Brighton 1 point
Wolves 0 points
Brentford 0 points

No chance of a miracle now we are down End of!

Whilst it’s still possible it’s not impossible !!!!

Just hope GC is giving out a more positive message in the dressing room than some of the downbeat replies.

in reply to: Four Straight Wins #141122

We play wolves at home

Yep its Brentford away not Wolves my mistake pskl, still 2 home games tho. Wouldn’t it be unreal if we did it ;) ;)
. Bet you thought that when we won the F.A Cup; so why not. After all, this is the LATICS !!!!!!!!

in reply to: Four Straight Wins #141118

will do it !

Still think it could come down to the last kick of the season.

So that’s 2 home wins plus winning at Molineux and the New Den. 2 home wins when we aint won at home since August, love your optimism Ali
Rotheram:

Fulham (A) 1 point
Norwich (H)0 points
Reading (H) 3 points
Leeds (A) 1 point

Total 48 point

Millwall:

Wigan (H) 0 points
Cardiff (A) 1 point
Rovers (A) 3 points
Derby (H) 3 points
Wolves (A) 1 point

Total 44 points

Wigan:

4 x 3 points

Total 48 points / to stay up on goal average

Next two games are must wins; then let’s review the situation !!!!!!

in reply to: Turning point this season #141010

Fulham dropped two points tonight. It’ll go to the wire and we’ll need free coaches to Brentford.
