Sammon, Di Santo,Rodders ,does it really matter who or how we play them ?Theres no goals in any of them.We can have 99% possession and those 3 still couldnt hit the net.
Christ,we haven’t got the quality of players to play any formation.Nip out and whiff the winter roses .We are where we are because as our manager he has failed miserably from day 1.Then again a lot of posters seem to be looking forward to our forthcoming championship campaign ,”lets play in a proper league “…….whatever !!

Bosselli,South Americas top scorer.Arrives on tuesday and given an isolated role in the baptism of fire mauling by Blackpool.Then our astute manager continues to play him on his own up front until whatever confidence he did have was drained.Then reserves,Genoa ,tatty bye.He had to be better than we saw ,but will go down as a flop.As for players repeatedly turning us down would you not agree that our hammerings ,and glued in bottom 5 has compounded our player attractability.Didnt stop Heskey,cattermole,zog ,melchiot,bramble arriving albeit not superstars but a cut above what we have now.I ask ,if it were Steve Bruce who put us in this mire instead of Robbie would you be so sympathetic and surround him with your criticism deflector shield ?
Rodders,Sammon,Di Santo,…..I would have Yakubu any day .No its not a stroke of luck ,its called an educated gamble.Something you have to risk when the dollop is up to your ears.What do you call whipping out 2.5 mill for a forward whose scoring ratio pre Wigan was bordering on criminal(Di Santo)as for Bosselli we will never know..Sorry Robbie has failed miserably with his aquisitions so instead of the buck stopping at his feet let’s wallow in “little Wigan syndrome”.
We will never be prolific scorers in the Prem but its about having forwards who keep the ball and take pressure of our rear guard.Goal diff in pre Robbie Prem era reads -7 -22 -17 -11.The last 3 seasons -42 -21 and presently -27.We constantly give the ball away cheaply in the final 3rd and our midfield has contributed more goals than the forwards.I would be confident we would survive with 1 half decent one but its in the lap of the gods with the impotent group we have now .Yakubu,Zamora ,fletcher could be the reason why we drop and they may survive.
Please don’t use any of the damning statistics to back up any opinions about our 3 season goal drought, or you will face the wrath of the “theres a positive in there somewhere” crew .

At a guess our strikers have belted in a total of 8 prem goals whilst midfield chipped in with 12…..and Caldwell nabbed same as our Talisman Hugo !
Fair comment ,but our forwards never create anything themselves either.Worst forwards weve had in our Prem years and we will ultimately pay the price for that.
Spot on ..I wish I had 50p for every lame excuse Ive heard as to why wiganers dont attend football/rugby games .One friend says he cant afford to go yet spent over £250 on Man U kits during last season for him and his 2 small sons to adorn as the curl up in front of the box .I’m very unhappy with the clubs plight but still £250 for me and my son is unbeatable value irrespective of on the pitch situation,long may it continue.
