Evening 27yearsmanutd5yearswafc.

..and of course Fulham, Man City and Arsenal are all “winnable” fixtures?

Hull & West Ham have a very easy run-in compared to yourselves. Each have a home game against Sunderland – where Elephant heed will let his side roll over to get one back on Uncle Dave and all those at Wigan who slagged him once he left.

May 1st will be showdown time!

36 points should be enough this season. Pompey & Burnley are doomed. Hull have a pretty easy run-in on paper, although turning that into points is easier said than done.

Cost me a fair packet this weekend with a trip to the SOL, followed by a day out in Yorkshire today.

Still, another cracking sporting weekend, made even better by the Rah Rah’s losing in Paris.

    How was yours?

I admire the OP’s optimism, but would remind him that there are three relegation places to be filled, not 2. Looking at your fixtures and those of West Ham, Hull & Wolves, I wouldnt start chanting “We are Premier League” until you have beaten Pompey and got to more than 34 points.

Wolves’ last 2 games are against Pompey & Sunderland, and I can see them picking up 6 points in those 2 alone.

West Ham have home games against Wolves, Stoke, Wigan & Sunderland, and will pick up at least 7 points there, if not more.

Hull’s run in looks pretty easy on paper:

Fulham, Burnley, Villa, Sunderland & Liverpool at home.
    Stoke, Brum & Wigan away.

so with Wigan facing a tricky April, it may well come down to the game at the DW on 1 May to decide which of Wigan & Hull goes down.

Its a society problem that has not just been created since 1997 – its been creeping in since the late 1980s. How will changing the council make Wayne & Waynetta Slob dress better when walking round town with their sextuplet slobs wondering how to spend their latest Giro?

Get the lazy single mothers out working in the community, even if its just for a few hours whilst their multiple offspring are at school. Get the idle blokes clearing the cr@p from the River Douglas, and leaves from Haigh Hall. Norman Tebbitt was laughed at for suggesting the unemployed should “get on their bikes”, but it pains me to say he was right.

Give secondary school heads the power to cane unruly teenagers, with no fear of legal action, so they grow up to be adults who respect authority, and will instill that respect in their offspring.

Its taken half a generation to go wrong – it will take a whole generation to put right.

That said, there’s a lot of rubbish talked about their fans, yes the ones that go give them superb support, but their gates are incredibly poor for a club thats in a 2 club county with no Premier League club for at least 50 miles. I’m sure that they hardly filled FP even after they won the cup, yet with their catchment area, they should have been locking thousands out every week.

This season, their average crowd is down (like many), but they still fill almost 90% of available seats at Fratton Park. The missing 10% is mainly made up from clubs who do not take the full 2000 away allocation that is made available.

They had plans for a new 40000 seat stadium on Hayling Island, which will probably come to nothing. I reckon that they would have pretty much filled it, and here’s why:

Southampton used to only get 16000 at the Dell, but as soon as they moved to St Marys, their attendance doubled. Sunderland only got 20K at Roker, but 40K at the SOL. Even Wigan doubled their crowd as soon as they moved to the JJB. Its a fact that new stadium attracts new fans.

The crime that this club have committed is one of total financial mismanagement – betting their entire existence on Red, and its come up black. I hope they survive, because their 18000 loyal fans deserve a club, but I also hope the likes of Peter Storrie-Teller never get another job again.

Then whoever took all the corners in the promotion season under Larry Lloyd must have been the most skilful player in the clubs history – the number of goals scored from near post flick-ons was phenominal.

was she wearing a light blue jacket ? and was she on the fat side?.
if so she sits 2 seats away from me at the dw and she does my head in big time :x

A fat person watching the Latics? Whatever next.

in reply to: Going down…? #26504

    No.

Pompey are doomed one the PL finally get their fingers out and deduct them 9 points.

Burnley’s defending is comical and I’d be surprised if they get to 30 points.

Hull will fight, but they’ve got nothing other than fight.

I reckon we could well relegate Burnley on 17 April and you will relegate Hull on 1 May.

All things considered its been a pretty good sporting weekend for me.

The radio 5 summerisor put it quite aptly:

“Wigan have overplayed the ball throughout, and they just aren’t good enough to overplay”.

What would be a great sporting weekend for me?
Wigan rugby lose against Hull tonight.

    Perfecto!

    Not a good start then!
Easy easy easy
Wasnt that the chant at the reebock this afternoon?

I dont come on here to be liked. I come on to post an “alternate” view to the Pravda-style posting that frequents this board.

I think you’re getting confused again mutty. RL fans is the Pravda style board where they all slag Latics off and ban any and all Wigan Athletic fans who simply want to respond and put their opinions across when THEY are telling lies about us but are not allowed to do so. The moderators over there are known for editing posters words ( I think it was it martinh who went on there last year to put some of the children right on a few things and got his words edited to imply that he was looking for a dog to perform fellatio on, very grown up I’d say )

The very fact that you are allowed to post on here, despite your only purpose being to cause mischief amongst Wigan Athletic fans shows what an open minded board this is.

You aren’t a Wigan Athletic fan, you are a rugby fan who actively takes a pop against a side he doesn’t care for, yet cares enough to be on this site 24/7. You have no business here other than to act the pure snide who comes on here to rub it in when your home town gets beat. I bet you feel a really big man don’t you? You’re not, you’re a snidey pathetic excuse of a man.

Either support Wigan Athletic or get off this website, we’ve got enough problems without some so called bell end of a Wiganer coming on here to mock his own town team. I don’t dislike you, I pity you with your small mind and petty point scoring.

Feel free to reply, you’re allowed to on here, unlike your own RLfans site. My advice would be to grow up and do one though.
Well, thats me told then.
