I dont come on here to be liked. I come on to post an “alternate” view to the Pravda-style posting that frequents this board.
Enjoy the game today?
70,000+ Wiganers do not support their town’s football team. Thats an awful lot of pr1cks.
Enjoy your big day out today.
What would be a great sporting weekend for me?
Wigan rugby lose against Hull tonight.Perfecto!
Not a good start then!
So you cant make it to Horwich – 7 miles up the road, but you can make it to a pub in Wigan to watch the game.
You should be filling the visiting end on Saturday – top and bottom. Its not stupidly expensive, its your local derby, you go there on the back of a great win against Liverpool, and if you beat them you drop them further into the relegation $h!t, whilst all but ensuring survival for yourselves.
Why on earth would anyone want to go to a pub in Wigan to watch that type of fixture is beyond me. :?:
It says:
“Yeah but JamesC is a to$$er, not many of the usual crew on there like him anyway.”
Not really something to brag about….
Did I say that he wasnt Jimbo?
Please tell me, why were we getting 1500 fans and the rugby 15000? The fans could afford Wembley almost every year, but couldn’t spare a couple of quid in our hour of need.Ok, now I’m confused as to the direction your hatred is cast….
Population of Wigan in 1995: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 1995: 1500
Population of Wigan who did not attend: 78500Population of Wigan in 1979: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 1979: 8000Population of Wigan in 2005: 80,000
Population of Wigan who attended Latics games in 2005: 18000Population of Wigan who attended a rugby game in 1995: 8000. (Based on the “fact” that 40% come from outside Wigan.
So your bile is directed at 8000 Wiganers, some of whom probably watched the football in 1995 too, but not at the “missing” 6500 that attended in 1979/80/81/82 etc, nor those 16500 that developed a love of all things football in 2005, but couldnt be arsed ten years previous. Nor is it aimed at the 60,000+ who have not bothered attending either sport over a 30 year period.
Taken from the BBC Website:
“Mr Andronikou also said chief executive Peter Storrie – who has been criticised over his handling of Portsmouth’s troubles – had tendered his resignation. In the meantime, he has taken a 40% wage cut and currently remains in his post.
Mr Andronikou also said other staff had agreed to work fewer hours and that he would attempt to agree salary deferrals with others.
He also said “one or two” players had offered to take pay cuts.”
Whilst I dont doubt that Peter Storrie-Teller has a large part to play in the downfall of Portsmouth Football Club, I find the last line of what I have quoted utterly shocking. The likes of David James & John Utaka will continue to pick up £50K a week and upwards, whilst 85 staff pick up their P45s.
No Mutty tneet ? owt do wit us going a couple apoints clear of the Harrods buyers  :mrgreen:Good Evening! :D :D :D
As this is in the non-football thread, I am prevented from congratulating you for an outstanding win against a top 4 side. I am also prevented from congratulating you for a scrappy 1-0 against a Liverpool side who were utterly sh! t from start to finish.
However, as this board permits gloating about low crowds when the towns sporting side win, then I will point out that 17400 or whatever it was for the visit of Liverpool hardly suggests that the town has embraced the football club or the premier league with open arms. Almost 8000 down on the stadium record. Probably about 12002 Wigan fans there last night for the visit of Liverpool. But hey, there’s still more than for t’egg chasers so thats ok.
I will state here and now that there will be at least 2 crowds in excess of 21000 at the DW between now and the end of August, and neither will be for a football match.
I see theres no mention of this on the Cherryandshoite.Apart from this thread

I would imagine a true fan like yourself would have been there. Save yerself the pain of reminding yourself – those days are hopefully well and truly gone forever!
 Dave whelan stadium has been permenantly banned from rlfans. No bad or abusive language was ever used. How petty is that, They can’t even have a bit of good natured banter. Thats old fashioned peanut fans for you that my fellow badgers. Them lot wouldn’t get banned off here 4 having good natured(no abusive) banter because thats ONE of the joys of having a forum. Its open to all. Yet another indication that peanut lobbing fans are stuck in their own little world and they can’t handle a GOOD NATURED JOKE. 1-0 to latics fans it is then :DIn case your wondering why i’ve gone to town on this topic,
DAVE WHELAN STADIUM WAS ME – X –    :lol:and how long do you think someone would last on here if, for example, all they did was “innocently” knock your beloved football club.
I’ve just read your 20 posts and you are correct – no bad or abusive language. They humoured you with the national stadium questions, then your mask began to slip when, instead of talking about the on-field performance of a 58-0 win, you chose to talk about the crowd.
A “mod” on here apparently has tried to ban me for the heinous crime of “banter”, but claims it didnt work. I guess even the moderating is superior on their site!
Anyway, what happened to my post about the Scarborough game – that got shifted quickly, and there was no bad language there!
Which one of the fatties huddled round the table are you then?
My bet is the slaphead.
Suggest you go and see
